Been looking into starting Creatine, with a very low loading phase (5 Grams/day over 3-4 weeks). I've read the articles, realized it's safe enough to try, what to expect, and how to go about taking it. But I have a few questions I can't seem to find answers for:

1. I'm starting to gain muscle mass and lower body fat %, but I still have a bit of a gut. I'm a 26 year old Male. 5'11" and 180 pounds. Because Creatine will make me gain weight, should I work to lose that gut before I even bother?

2. When I stop my cycle of Creatine, what can I expect in terms of results? Is this a supplement that if I dedicate myself to, I need to use from then on out? In a sense, will I lose that extra 10-15% in gains if I stop using it for a few months. Or will the results still be there as long as I keep working out, and using those gains in Reps/Weights that I got from using Creatine.

3. I know for the loading phase, to take it in the morning with Juice or adding it to my morning Shake. But once I'm past the loading phase and on to the Maintenance phase, what do I do here?
Thanks,

1. Losing your gut before or after taking creatine won't make a difference. Start taking the creatine whenever you feel like it haha.

2. You won't gain or lose a significant amount on it. If the results were substantial, creatine wouldn't be so cheap. All you'll lose is a small bit of strength (hardly noticable, maybe a rep or two). The only way your size will be effected, is loss of water-weight/retention. No dedication is really needed, just make sure you're getting a consistent dose. If you go for a long period without it, just go through loading phase again.

3. When loading I have 5g in the day (any time works), and another 5g post-workout. When maintaining, I just had 3g a day.

Also, the loading phase isn't completely necessary, it's just a shortcut to 'saturation', so don't hassle yourself over it. You'll have no problems just taking 3-5g 5-7 days a week.

Thanks,

You're operating on a lot of bad information.

Weight gain from creatine is in the vicinity of 1-2 lbs or so. It does not cause fat gain or anything to that sort, it's stored water that helps in ATP replenishment.

There's no need to cycle creatine. If you feel you need to, you'll lose the water weight and that's about it. Gains in the gym are not contingent on creatine supplementation.

Taking it with juice does not help to any appreciable level once you are saturated. If you're taking it at 5g/day, you'll likely saturate in the same time with or without the juice. Take it however you wish, but don't consider that a necessity.

On a cold Friday afternoon, I had come home from school. I had been thinking of the gym all day. I was hungry, didn't have any lunch. In fact, I didn't eat because I spent the money. For the past month I was saving up for something. Something special which I bought at GNC. I was surprised they didn't ask for ID; I was pretty sure the cashier noticed how nervous I was. Anyways, my mom asked my how my day was when I got home, but I ignored her. I have more important things to do. I run to the bathroom and unpack my bag. In my school bag is a white plastic bag from GNC. I open the bag, first removing the receipt and flushing it down the toilet to get rid of the evidence. My heart was racing now. I unpack the creatine monster from the bag.

I wonder what people will be asking me when they see that I will be 50lbs heavier. Should I say I was just eating a lot? I remove the label from the tub and tear it into a thousand small pieces. I flush that down the toilet, too. It is time now. I run up to my room when my mom ask me what I am holding. I panic, sweat drips down my forehead and my teeth chatter. "Mom, it's just for a school project". "What project?" "I don't know mom I just started it!". A tear runs down my cheek. I run upstairs and open the creatine, scooping upservings into a clear water bottle. What have I gotten myself into? I fill it with water and drink it. There is no turning back now. The creatine monster is inside me now, it will control me. What should I do if I die? I cant let my family know about this.

I open the creatine tub and throw it all out the window; a white cloud of mysterious dust sparkles into the wind so graciously. I feel the substance taking control of me; I am now the monster. I walk downstairs, its time to work out; time to get big. Now I worry, I don't want to get too big; people will think I use steroids. I do use steroids. No I don't. Creatine. All I see is the weights now, I am almost downstairs when I hear "Do you want a cookie I just baked". I know I do not have time for this **** now. "No mom I do not want a cookie" I walk in the basement and drop to my knees before the weights, tears running down my cheeks. I turn to the right and look at myself in the mirror. Oh god, what have I done?

Thanks,

The weight gain initially is water weight...it has nothing to do with your bodyfat levels. Losing weight on creatine is fine and a good idea, just keep in mind you may be 4-5 lbs heavier, but its all intracellular.

You can take 5 grams a day indefinitely...dont worry about "loading" and dont worry if you miss a dose once or twice a week. You will stay fully saturated after several weeks of supplementation.

You can add it to whatever you want, juice, coffee, shake, whatever it doesnt matter and timing doesnt matter either.
