If you have access to whole food protein, then 6-7 scoops a day does sound like a bit much. How many grams of protein do you consume each day?

do you not like eating protein like eggs, beef, chicken, seafood?

whey shakes should mainly be used for convenience

Well, it looks like you're not getting much protein from whole foods, or you're greatly overstating your protein needs. It's not a lot if that's what you need to hit your macro. There are plenty of days where i'm on the go and i drink 6 scoops of protein, but for a few reasons i try to not have that happen often. Is it bad for you? No.

I never do more than 2 scoops per day. All the rest of my protein is from food.

Same for me.

OP you need to get your diet better in-check. It is always more ideal to get your protein from your foods (steak, chicken, eggs, etc etc). Protein shakes should be used as a convenience.

It takes me about 2-2.5 months to go through 5lbs of protein. Usually average 1.5 scoops/day.

I think that's crazy...
I'm also on a cut at 278 lbs right now and I take in 220-240.. I've had minimal strength loss over the past 3 months.

0.82g/lb is the point at which additional protein intake ceases to yield any benefits. You weigh 187 pounds, so that means that you don't need any more than 153 grams of protein per day
