i blame it on D'antoni.the guy has no idea how to run the team so he leaves kobe in for the whole game basically being a player coach carrying the whole team. the toll was too much to take for kobe's body no matter how tough he is.

I have a feeling the Lakers fans will be making you red.

I know so.

I'm pissed off, stakes are just as high for dubs to get 6th spot as the 8th spot is for lakers. We got no chance against the spurs or Okc; that game was criminal.

Edit: more I read first comment the more bitter I see it. I just hope lakers don't make playoffs, kobes just the person to get them there. Lakers don't deserve to be there

Laker fans can blame D'tony all they want, but it is a fact that Kobe runs the team and does whatever he wants. Blame Kobe for not being coachable.

Having it happen late in a career makes it even worse.

I remember when Dan Marino came back after he tore his Achilles and he was never the same, he couldn't scramble worth sht. Basketball is dependent on quick movement. I feel this will be career ending but we'll see what the MRI shows.

sad that its probably the end of his career as we know it.

half of me is caught in the moment and raging and wants to say it's justice for how gross that rigging was, but ending a great career is never a good thing over 1 game. D'Antoni really should've forced him into rest even if Kobe argued against it. Who knows maybe he'll get some amazing "treatment" and come back looking like vino next year.

I actually like Kobe just can't stand laker bias and laker fans

broboma2012
04-12-2013, 10:53 PM
That, and both his knees were injured earlier in the game which probably contributed to him injuring his achilles.

Similar to Rose and his injuries that piled up over last season, finally knee gives.

exactly this. i think this is why rose is be so super cautious right now. if this injury is true this could be catastrophic for a player of kobe's age. i wonder how this will affect dwight's free agency this summer. i could see reasons for it making him more likely to resign as well as go elsewhere

Day1086
04-12-2013, 11:08 PM
I saw something about potentially partial torn achilles.... is the distinction between partial and complete enough to be career saving?

the examples of achilles injuries in the past such as billups most recently dont seem very hopeful, but partial? I'm no doctor but rondo's partial ACL tear seems to be progressing a lot faster than a normal ACL injury...

but im not a doctor

Didn't like Kobe for a long time but gained a ton of respect for him the last two. Guy put his ass out there 40+ minutes per game to carry this **** team on his back, really depressing that he gets screwed out of reaping the reward for all of this.

He is one of those elite competitors, Jordan, Kobe, Favre.

I don't care what you blame. You can't undo what has been done. Swearing at me won't help either.
You really think Kobe wanted to rest and the coach told him he had to play? You really think Kobe respects pringles much?
Phil is probaby the only coach who can tell Kobe what to do.

Laker fans acting like its the end of the world. They can still do this. Nash has run this offence for the majority of his career. He and Kobe are both used to being the center of the attention and having things revolve around him. This is Nash`s time to shine, if he can makes things work with the pieces he has they arent out of it yet

kobe determines how many minutes kobe plays; though Pringles is not the coaching mind to know how to minimize the loss of kobe getting any measure of rest on the bench

Pringles also aint chit without the god-tier Phoenix medical staff basically reviving players after each game either.
