View Full Version : Thinking of going into sports management

Currently at a crossroads in my life. Exploring different career possibilities and sports management struck me as something interesting. Like representing pro athletes.

Any brahs know about the industry? Job opportunities, salaries, good programs/universities in Canada?

I really don't know much about how it works. I would work in the MMA industry specifically

Much obliged

I think there are 5 managers for every athlete out there, it's a really hard world

It's about as good as a liberal arts degree. srs.

If you're going to get it, you'd have to go ALL the way, get your PhD in it or at least a masters - and do some really good internships. It's not a field you can just walk into.

A sports management degree is for being an assistant manager of personnel for a minor league baseball team. Even then you should be getting a regular business degree.

If you want to be a manager or agent for an athlete you have to get a law degree from a good school and get a ton of experience working under people
