I started this journey at 185lbs.
Through constant exercise and counting calories I have lost 21lbs so far.

I'd like to get an estimate of where im at with my body fat percentage.
I'm curious how far i am from 9-10%.

thanks

I'm 5ft 9in btw...

Get the idea of cutting to 9% out of your head for now. You are skinny-fat and should bulk. You will not look good at single digit body fat. You need to build some mass. Your body fat is hard to estimate due to being skinny fat. Check this video out for more info http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GgbzzOZlaY. Also, I mean no disrespect at all, I'm just trying to give you the best advice for your current physique.

Id say 17-18%

maybe lose another 4-6 pounds and then do a clean bulk

I'm 5'9" and I weighed 177 in my avi. Do you get why just getting skinnier isn't gonna help? Go lift some weights.

18 percent, What is your overall goal?

I totally read that wrong. I would not bulk quite yet. You have plenty of potential gain even at a deficit. Cut 5-10 more and reassess.

I do lift weights but I'm not trying to be big and buff. I just want to be slim and lean. What if I cut another 15lbs and just lift weights a little heavier?

About 20%. I wouldn't cut to 9% but I would keep cutting if I were you. Maybe to about 13-15% first. If you bulk now you're going to end up fat and if you cut to 9% you won't look impressive. Single digits is probably a lot lower than you think.

I wanna cut to around 140-145. I just posted this just cuz I was curious how much fat I had left to get rid of.

You will be pencil thin my friend. But if that is your goal then you are your own master...

Calorie deficit -500
HIT/and or low intensity fat burn keeping heart rate 130-140
Invest in a thermogenic

Good luck

I don't think anyone is suggesting that you should turn into a muscle-bound monster. If maybe you gained 10lb of muscle, you'd still look slim when you cut back to a low PBF, but without appearing skeletal. That seems to be the point here.

I am similar to you, in that I lost about 35lb last year and got down from 28.3% to 12.6%. However, I know now that I will just look skinny if I lose much more, so I intend to develop a bit of muscle for a few months, before getting back down to 10%. You really might find that's better for you as well.

I just hope you aren't expecting rock solid abs under there when you get down to low body fat levels. Those are muscles which need to be built as well, and the best way to build them is to put on some lean mass. Still, good luck on your goals.

Thanks everyone. I will take it one goal at a time. My first, get rid of this excess bf and once I reach that goal I will set a new one for putting on a little muscle mass so I don't look deathly skinny

Should I cut another 10 pounds so I'm 145lbs or slowly bring my calorie intake up to my maintance within the span of a month and just lift heavy and eat 200 grams of protein a day?

Probably a stupid question, but will my gut/love handles go away after I've built a bit of muscle mass?

Dude it's not gonna get any better if you continue to cut. You are already slim...you were already slim when you started. You have no mass to cut to. I understand that the slim look is "in" and you don't wanna be all jacked but to look good at a low body fat you still got to have some muscles. Yes you may gain a little fat but I guarantee you will look better if you gain 25lbs over 6-8 months while lifting as heavy as you can.

Losing fat is easy....bulk for 6-8 months then cut for 8 weeks and you will be a happy man.

Try to think of building a physique in terms of painting. The artist has to have the finished artwork in mind the whole time, because while he's painting, it just looks like a complete mess until it's finished.

The general sentiment in your case is that it's going to be heaps easier for you to bulk now, build a little mass and then cut the fat off later. From personal experience cutting to low body fat levels without any muscle mass is actually pretty hard, and just a huge time waster. Your body's safety levels are different when you have no muscle mass.

As far as your goal physique is concerned, I'd say aim for about 10lbs of lean muscle gains and then cut back 10lbs of fat and see what you think. You'll end up at the same weight but at a far lower bf%. And doing it in this order, things will go a lot better for you.

All the best!

I bought protein, creatine and glutamine and I just started weight training this week. How much protein a day would you recommend? I'm getting anywhere between 150-200 grams a day. Hope that's enough. Hoping to start seeing my "noob gains" within the next 3 months.

150 is plenty. Use the powder to supplement real food.
