As the title says, I'm confused with the calories per ounce and how it varies cooked vs uncooked for salmon. I have salmon that has been cooked, and weighs 5 oz, but meats usually weigh more after being cooked so I am confused as to how many calories/ounces to log it as.

Anyway, use raw weight to determine nutritional content.

The nutrition scale is based on the raw weight.

Oops I meant to say that, my bad!
I did not weigh this before It was cooked because someone else cooked it, what could I estimate the original ounces was if it is now 5 oz after being cooked?

The nutrition scale is based on the raw weight.

Okay, thank you! So if I was only able to weigh it after cooking, how could you calculate how many ounces it was before? Or just a good guesstimate ?

Just make your best guess this time, and then weight your portions before cooking going forward.

Good tips in here. I'm an after cooking weigher. I'll have to switch my methods.
