View Full Version : Quick question about caloric intake and rest days

After I calculate my TDEE with appropriate activity factor, etc, that is my maintenance caloric intake for ALL days, not just lifting/workout days, correct? I shouldn't calculate two TDEEs, one for working out and one for rest days? I only ask because I've noticed a trend where I weigh the most on Mondays and Thursdays (following my rest days of Wed+the weekend). It might just be water retention/bloat (I tend to have my cheat meals either on Wednesday or Sunday - does anybody else find it more enjoyable to schedule cheat days on rest days?) but I wanted to make sure because I'd hate to throw away four days' of work a week because I'm making a basic nutrition mistake.

Yes, TDEE is based on average caloric burn. Use that figure as a logical starting point for daily intake and modify intake based on empirical finds.
