Aware me on Jesse Venture. Srs.

Vietnam veteran with the now defunct Navy frogmen.
Mildly successful pro wrestler and color commentator.
Best known contribution to the world was as the heavy weapons specialist in the movie Predator. He was the guy carrying the minigun, one of the Predator's first kills.
Mayor and governor in Minnesota.
Has spent the time since then on the conspiracy theory media circuit, most notably Conspiracy Theory on TruTV.

Describes himself as socially liberal fiscally conservative, though I have never been able to nail him down and do not see him as a viable candidate on the national scene.

Lol'ed @ bold. Will watch the movie again just to see him.

I have to look into him more. However I hate when people start to associate Libertarianism with conspiracy theorist and other "radicals", so hopefully he's not an air wave crack pot like that Alex dude.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Jesse Ventura is probably on the same wavelength as Alex Jones. They are both pretty big into the conspiracy theories.

He is pretty big CT'er now.

Which is unfortunate, because he really could have done a lot of the libertarian movement.

I really don't mind Jesse for the most part, but I doubt I'd be able to vote for someone that said he hated living in America so much that he moved to Mexico to live there instead.

Yeah, sounds like this guy would do more to harm the movement than help it. Last thing we need is to be associated with more crazies, that guy would just load up the media with free ammo for attacking "Libertarianism".

Don't see why OP is excited.

I highly disagree. His performance as Captain Freedom in The Running Man was his best contribution to the world.

Incidentally, also an Arnold movie.

Edit: I kinda doubt it... bitching about teh gubbermint boogey man has made him rich. As VP he'd be a part of it, so no more black helicopters and FEMA death camps lol.

Jesse VenMoron got KO by a REAL Navy SEAL. :D :D

Imagine what would happen if a man in a bar told a group of Navy SEALs that he:
•Disagrees with the war.
•Believes they (the military) are murderers, killing innocent people… men, women and children
•Thought they probably deserve to lose a few of their own.

You are probably wondering if the guy making the offensive comments is still alive.

He is alive, and he also happens to be Jesse Ventura, a SEAL alum/reservist and the former governor of Minnesota.

Making matters worse, Ventura’s comments were directed at Chris Kyle, the Navy SEAL known as “the military’s deadliest sniper.”

This little known incident was brought out during an interview on SiriusXM’s Opie and Anthony radio show on Wednesday. Speaking exclusively to The Blaze, Gregg “Opie” Hughes explained that he had a tip to ask Kyle about his run-in with Jesse Ventura. So Opie casually brought it up and the story unfolded.

It was in 2006 when Ventura and the SEALs happened to be in the same bar, for very different reasons. The SEALs were holding a wake to honor a lost member of their team. Jesse was in town to speak to some new graduates of the SEAL program. During his military career from 1969-75, Ventura was a member of the Navy’s elite Underwater Demolition Team or UDT (the UDT was the precursor to the SEALs) and Jesse is a SEAL reservist. You might expect that sharing the history of membership in an elite military unit would garner a lifetime of mutual respect. Not so with Ventura.

As stated above, the SEALs were in the bar to mourn the loss of team member. They had gathered with the family of Medal of Honor recipient Mike Mansoor when Ventura made it known to many that he did not agree with the war. Kyle claims that he approached the former governor, and asked him to keep it down, informing Jesse that the family of the deceased was also with them.

That’s when Ventura unleashed more of his insensitive comments and Kyle reportedly countered with a one-punch knockdown.

Earlier this week, The Blaze featured a story about Chris Kyle and his autobiography that explains his amazing prowess with a rifle. We know now that Chris is also accurate with his fists and at close range.

Here’s the interview from the Opie and Anthony show on Wednesday. Chris Kyle explained the encounter with Jesse “the Body” Ventura.

Following the interview, “Opie” says that Chris Kyle told him that very few people knew about the Jesse Ventura incident and that his source must be “very inside.”

This is Chris Kyle. http://www.harpercollins.com/authors/38163/Chris_Kyle/index.aspx He wrote about the incident in his book but left our Venmoron's name. :D :D

Actually he has turned into a more rabid version of Alex Jones. He wasn't insane when he was the governor of MN. Since he left office, he has gone full retard. He didn't seek reelection after 1 term. His term was like the politics' version of The Beverly Hillbillies. He must have found out the money Alex jones has been conning out of the CT crews and he wants in on it.

Dude, I've said the same thing before...

I read a really good magazine interview with him once right after he was first elected governor and he came across rock solid. Not even a hint of any FEMA Death Camps or anything.... And now look at him.

I honestly wonder if he's had some sort of head injury, or brain tumor, because something has damn sure made him bat****.

Scruff Face"?

Them's fighting words to Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Minnesota's controversial former governor and TV provocateur.

Ventura, whose real name is James Janos, recently filed a defamation lawsuit against Navy SEAL Chris Kyle over the portrayal of a bar fight Kyle claims they had six years ago in Coronado, Calif. Kyle wrote about the alleged incident in his recent memoir "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History."

Under the headline, "Punching Out Scruff Face," Kyle describes a confrontation with a "celebrity" who served in the military during the Vietnam War and who "most people seem to believe was a SEAL." He said Scruff Face winters in Baja California, opposed the war in Iraq and described the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as a "conspiracy."

Though he didn't name Ventura, Kyle has since acknowledged that Scruff Face is Ventura.

In his lawsuit filed in Hennepin County District Court, Ventura denies any such fight took place and alleges that Kyle defamed him in an effort to promote his book. He's seeking unspecified monetary damages, including any profits from the book's sales.

According to Kyle's portrayal, the incident occurred in 2006 in a Coronado bar frequented by SEALs. Kyle was attending a wake for Mike Mansoor, who received the Medal of Honor after throwing himself on a grenade to save fellow SEALs in Iraq.

Kyle says Ventura was in town to give a commencement speech for a class of SEALs and was trash-talking the war, former President George W. Bush and America in general.

Mansoor's family was upset by Ventura's comments, so Kyle says he told Ventura, "We're all in mourning," and asked him to tone it down. He claims Ventura took a fighting stance and said, "You deserve to lose a few."

Kyle wrote that he suggested they both go their own way, but Ventura swung at him. "I laid him out," Kyle wrote. "Scruff Face ended up on the floor."

In his lawsuit, Ventura raises the specter of a conspiracy. News Corp. owns both HarperCollins and Fox News. He notes that the book's publisher, William Morrow, is an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, and that Kyle was interviewed about the alleged incident in January on the Fox News Channel program "The O'Reilly Factor."

On Friday, Kyle filed a petition to move the suit to U.S. District Court in St. Paul. He said he stands by his story.
