These idiots @my work think that just because Im not a "professional football player", that there is noway I can run faster than an offensive lineman.
I then said " I guarantee all of you I can out do Tom Bradys 40 time" and they all said baaaah hahaha bull$hit and flipped out.
These idiots obviously have not seen Tom Bradys run at the combine.

I can do about a 4.8-4.9 right now w/no training. W/training atleast a 4.7 which I believe no offensive lineman has ran lower than a 4.83 recently?

Unless you work with a bunch of former athletes who still train regularly its doubtful any of them would beat tom brady in a 40. Unless you train for it or have good sprinting genetics you're not gonna go under 5.

Under 5. Idk the exact time, never done an official one.

I remember running a 5.0 flat before I started lifting and was 215 lbs. Between lifting running, and doing 40 yd dash wind sprints at the football field, I'm sure my time has improved, but dont know where/how to get timed accurately.

People are stupid and my guess is your detractors are people that havent seen any kind of physical exertion since middle school.

That's not necessarily true. I had very average speed in HS and ran a hand time 4.6, which I think equates to an electronically timed 4.8. I think any good HS athlete could run faster than Brady.

You must've gone to an elite high school. average college running backs run 4.6's. I admit our high school was unathletic and didn't train for the 40 but we had skill position guys running 4.8's and some 4.9's.

Hand times are slower than the official times many college recruits run at scouting combines and college players run at the NFL combine, usually by about .2-.3 seconds. And my senior class in HS was probably the most athletic in our school's history. Brb conference championships in football, basketball, wrestling, track, and baseball.

I mean we had a ton go d2 but only one go d1 to Michigan State and the fastest was our white receiver who ran a 4.45 he went D2. No one else was close. He was a track freak and basically did everything. I played bball with him in middle school and dude carried the team. He had a twin too who dominated volleyball. Sick family genetics FTW

I've ran a legit 4.80 and in whatever sport we're playing I get people telling me how fast I am. I don't have any sprinting or track experience.

If you can legitimately run under 4.7, you can fuking run.

Comparing 40 times is kind of a crap shoot. It's not just whether it was hand timed or done with laser but there is such a thing as fast/slow surfaces having an impact on your time.

Well assuming my legs are in good health and i've been training normally(standard lower body weight lifting routine) and doing my normal cardio. I could run around a 4.8-4.9. My best ever was around a 4.7. Since my legs have been so banged up over the past year or so I bet i could only run a 5.2 now.

4.59 senior year of college at the end of my indoor track season was my pr. I never came close to that consistently though, usually 4.65 during both seasons. We used the PowerDash timing system that's used at the NFL combine and we were on a fast track. That was 18 months ago and I wouldn't even come close to that right now. I'd be lucky to run 4.8 probably closer to 4.9. Lol @ anyone saying sub 4.5, that is absolutely flying bro. If so you could have probably gotten a D1 track scholarship to run the 60 or you better be in football.

4.64 when i was 17. def would not break 5 right now. those of you doubting the e-stats...there's a lot more separating pro athletes from us normal folk than a 40 time. 40 time is such a bad measure. it really doesn't mean much except for what it was actually used for...seeing how fast gunners could get down field.

I played soccer and ran track in high school, and also did this speed and agility training in the summer.

We all got timed at the end, so the coaches could then see who had the good times, jumps, etc.

Hand-timed, I was at 4.76 or something like that.

I am not as fast as I used to be, so I would probably just squeak under 5 now.

HumptyBrah

Ran a 4.9 in high school. I was 270 back then. Last time I was timed was a few years ago, and I ran a 5.1.

Apparently I'm all torque and no horsepower, because my 10-yard split last time I timed my 40 was 1.64.

I don't think my 100 was ever that great though as I was quicker than I was fast.
