I credit Cali's monster success due to a high population and that they have a very very nice Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

No shock.

Cali, Florida, NJ, NY, Illinois and Texas are the most populated and densely populated states.

No shock.

Cali, Florida, NJ, NY, Illinois and Texas are the most populated and densely populated states.

but there shouldn't be that big of a disparity between california and the others...CA most populous (37 million) and Texas is not that far behind (25 million), NY and FL (19 each)

why did you highlight Illinois with 4, when there are multiple states with more medals?

i highlighted the most populous states, IL is #5 after CA, TX, NY, and FL...i highlighted NJ because it stuck ut with 10

Isn't the main Olympic team training center in Cali? Really messes with your numbers in that case. Im sure someone born close in proximity to that area would be much more prone to striving for an Olympic sport than say someone on the East Coast. Not to mention that many Olympic sports are not even played or taught in the Midwest. Only the rich school districts have pools generally as well. Would assume Cali schools, especially coastal schools would all have pool teams to introduce them to the sport.

California is the best state in America.

But let's break it down even further: Southern California is the best region in America. Seriously, SoCal and NorCal need to split. I don't want to be associated with those phaggots up there (literally, the phaggots up there in SF).

The real question is, we gonna continue to act like NJ isn't an athletic powerhouse?

It's about time we start a new argument about medals other than China vs USA.

I assume she is listed as a Virginia medalist as she only moved to Iowa for gymnastics about a year ago.

She is originally from Virginia IIRC, and moved to Iowa to train with a specific coach...
