My favorite DE in the game right there. Aldon's a ****ing monster.

A sleeper for most sacks is Cliff Avril.

brb Ndamukong Suh getting double teams on almost every play
brb teams will realize they also need to occasionally double team Nick Fairley
brb Avril gets a 1v1 every time and is good enough to beat it and make his way to the QB for easy sacks/forced fumbles
brb you forgot about Kyle Vanden Bosch
brb easily the best D-line in the NFL

The defense won't get the same turnover numbers this year, but they might be better than last year in terms of yards and points per game...

Sounds like Brooks has been really impressive in camp. Nobody is old on the defense besides maybe Justin Smith, and you have a bunch of young guys with talent like Aldon, Culliver, Ian Williams, Dobbs, etc.

9ers do have a nasty line/LB core i give them that
too bad Dallas didnt have another huge talent to go on the other side of Ware

As much as i hate to say it JPP from the giants is a freak and can have a shot at it, Von Miller as well

He's obviously joking when he said that but your earlier comment shows your lack of knowledge of the 49ers.

Teams straight up gave up on running against them last year and the trend in the NFL is a lot more pass oriented than it used to be.

Niners had the best run D in the league, teams will run on them but not nearly as often as they'll pass the ball. For other teams your logic may make sense but not for the 49ers. For them 2nd down is pretty much 3rd down.

Not to mention as ToP said above it's not like teams just run on 1st and 2nd and pass only on 3rd down. It doesn't mean he'll automatically double his sack numbers of course but he'll get a lot more opportunities to rush the passer.

i know but im saying they put him in on pass rushing situations. where he would great chances to get sacks.

if he was in all the time he would also have to play coverage where he isnt effective. they mostly brought him in when they wanted to blitz hard

Are you implying that Suh has a chance to lead the league in sacks? Because even the best DT's rarely get 10 sacks. Suh did it as a rookie but I don't see him ever getting high enough to lead the league (16 minimum)

Doom & Von will combine for 30 big ones next year. My body = ready.

Possibly since his potential is so ****ing high, but I honestly think Avril has a good shot at it. The trouble Suh & Fairley will cause will be amazing.

Im not saying hes going to lead the league in sacks but heres a guy that no one knows that could get 15 sacks this year in his 2nd season.

Pernell McPhee of the ravens. This will be his firat year starting and had 7 sacks last year in only 390 snaps. Similar stats to aldon smith.

If he's in all the time, he's still in on obvious pass rushing downs but he's also in on downs where the other team could do either or and with the 49ers being so good at stopping the run it's more than likely they will pass.

By your logic any time Aldon isn't in on an obvious passing down he's going to drop back into coverage? And no, just no to the bolded part. The guy mostly played DE and the 49ers rarely blitzed plus it's not like Aldon is a pure speed guy who can only get sacks when he can just forget about watching for run plays and go full force after the QB.

Like I said I doubt he's going to double his sack totals or anything like that but he can certainly improve on his numbers from last year. Whether he does so is another story. He'll be getting a lot more attention this year but that should free up the guys on the other side to do some serious damage.

I am well aware of him. However No way he gets 15 sacks as a primary interior rusher. His ceiling is probably closer to 10 sacks. I wish the best for him though as he is definitely my favorite Raven

That's why teams just need to pass on them. Their secondary gave up 462 yards to Brees in the divisional game. Yes, the Saints could barely run it and didn't try much but still, the 9ers' secondary is average. Front 7 made it look great all season but it got exposed in that game. The only teams they played last year in the reg. season with good offensive lines were the Eagles and Ravens, and they shouldn't have won the Eagles game. Compare that to next year when they play Green Bay, New Orleans, and New England, which are all games I think they'll lose because of a lack of pressure and the offenses they'll be up against. Remember, they needed 6 turnovers to be in position to beat the Saints on a last minute drive.

And yet they did...weird how that works huh?

The Ravens game they lost because their OL sucked, a crappy penalty on Frank Gore took away a long TD for the 49ers and they were the first team to travel 3 time zones to play Thursday night.

Their secondary is certainly not the strength of their defense but that's not saying much considering how good their front 7 is. Their secondary is just fine and 100 times better than the Lions have. But when teams throw non stop they'll get their yards. How many points did they give up all year? Oh yeah...they were #2 by like 2 points. Obviously their defense did something right.
