Your net energy balance will determine weight loss. So if you're still in a deficit after the 'binge', then you'll lose weight.

as long as you're in a deficit for the week, you're fine. if that cheat day ends up killing the deficit you've built up during the other 6 days, then yes, it will ruin your progress

the words "cheat" and "IF" should be black listed by BB and not allow any members to post if they have that in the title.....it should also automatically take them to a "how to search" FAQ

my weekly deficit is 4500 calories, my maintance is 2000, my cheat day is 4000, so you basicly saying the deficit going down from4500 to 2500 beacuse of the cheat? i thought going over maintance is good in diet and it helps for metabolisam\leptin etc...

If your maintenance is 2,000 calories and you consume 4,000 on a given day, then you're over maintenance by 2,000 calories for that day.

If the other days combined you're at a deficit of 4,500 calories, then your weekly deficit is 2,500 calories. -4,500 + 2,000 = -2,500.
