This doesn't mean much. All it means is that the Phillies can only negotiate a trade with the Dodgers. The Phillies can even pull the claim back (which is likely to happen.)

it was never about a team just eating the salary brah. it was well known they wanted that + prospects.. I have read conflicting reports that they took him off waivers as well as that they've got 3 days to negotiate a possible trade.

you'd have to think the Dodgers would have to take on the contract + give up Lee in a deal.
