In light of my food scale's recent bed sh*tting, I am in the market to purchase a new digital food scale. (Most likely at Walmart)

Just curious as to who uses what type of scales and which types may be the best. (Stainless Steel, Glass, Plastic, Digital, Analog, etc.)

I want to get one with a bigger surface area but one that is really accurate.

digital, get the eatsmart pro thing from amazon, its like 25 with free shipping. You cannot accurately get a readout for grams with an analog scale to measure small stuff.

I can't remember the brand of my digital scale but I bought it from Walmart, and although accurate, lately I turn it on without touching the weigh pad and the numbers jump around so i'm questioning it's accuracy.

Thanks for the recommendation, I have spent the last 30 minutes reading reviews on amazon for different scales, the OXO scale is about 70 bucks but looks pretty heavy duty haha.

The one i mentioned is the one i use, i use it to weigh ice cream and other delicious treats and its dead accurate, you can put something on and off several times and it never moves around. Dont waste your money on something more expensive honestly because anything more is unnecessary.
Actually the only reason i got it was so i could measure ice cream.

edit: DERP you meant person scale, but moore's recommendation is a good one. I still stand behind my food scale though!

Hm, ok...I will order this scale ASAP.
My scale takes those oversized watch batteries which I think are about as expensive as a new scale anyways, it's handy the one you recommended using AAA batteries.

How long does Amazon usually take to ship?

Amazon ships same day as long as it's before 3pm pacific I think. (If it's sold by Amazon, I don't think that scale comes from Amazon's warehouses)

Nah, it's from their own warehouse, I actually just ordered it...said 7-11 business days so it's not super fast.
Hopefully my old scale can hold up for that long haha.

mine said the same thing and i had it at my door in like 3 days, they are usually pretty quick. Ive been ordering random junk thru amazon for years and they dont play around with shipping from experience.

I've never really used amazon...I was also curious about heart rate monitors because I wanted to see what I burned in a sedentary day but that would just be a waste of money me thinks.

Serp, did you have any huge weight loss stalls before big wooshes in your 2 year transformation???

i wouldnt waste the money.

take a read at this:

The only time the number didnt move was when i had pigouts from trying to diet too hard, or when i had carb ups, but that only was a week of the scale moving up and then coming right back down. I TRULY ate the same things every day to make things as mathematical as possible. Most of the reason it came off constantly was consistent sodium levels that you dont get with a "IIFYM" style dieting, in my opinion.
I logged my weight every week for the past two years, you can see where i started bulking and had cheats haha.

I had issues with my weight stall going UP and eating a seemingly obscene amount of food only to have it never go up for like a month and a half at one point, weird.

Hahaha...Ya, I'm IIFYM and I was in the 190's for so long then all of a sudden mid 180's one week, now stuck again....but the last 2-3 weeks I've had a couple days of huge binges which I know is one of the reasons, was just wondering because i'm going to go plain jane with chicken, eggs, beef, rice, greens, etc for a couple months keeping everything the same and see how that works out to get me into the 170's.
