Love me some Slayer, From Reign to Seasons.. Currently been listening to a lot of Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch as well, with some Suicidal Tendancies and old school Megadeth & Anthrax to round it out!

Anything metal / hard rock will, for cardio I prefer something with a faster beat, anything club related usually will do.

Some how the only song that always end up on my MP3 player is "Diamond eyes - Shinedown".

I used to be into metal, but never was really a fan of Slayer. They always struck me as a "gimmick" band. I do respect their longevity though, and never really have changed as far as softening up, like how Metallica did. My favorite metal band is Pantera.

I listen to drum & bass and dubtep now.

Metallica, Motörhead, AC/DC, Chickenfoot, Tool, Disturbed...

And there are the occasional days, Sundays, where I use no music. Early in the morning on Sunday my gym has a lot of elderly people in it so the owner shuts the bad music off. I will often times be there lifting with only one or two people. Working out to just the sound of iron isn't bad every now and then

Currently playing Black Sabbath and trying to picture Ozzy as he was back in the 70s.
Keep seeing some old fart from "The Osbournes" though.

That bloody program pretty much takes a load of the enjoyment out of the music.

Abba, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Barbara Striesand....they all rock the house and help me lift more weight. :)

My actual playlist will range from Ac/Dc to Bocelli to Rainbow, iron maiden, kid rock...but no country.

Live Dead or Jerry Band only. :)

Archive.org makes it possible to download nearly every live recording they have ever made (over 30 years of about 150-plus shows a year) for free. And many Healy soundboards. (only those into the scene would be aware of what that means. ;) )

I miss Jerry. :(

Right on! Especially Buddy Rich - though I also see it as background sounds; I don't seem to hear any music when doing sets, only when changing exercise or bodypart setups.

I rotate my music every couple of weeks. Right now I'm using Die Krupps and Motorhead. Next week I'm rotating Slipknot and Iron Maiden into the mix.

I listen to all different types of metal but on my current playlist I have Sylosis, Gojira, Baroness, Kylesa, Dragonforce, Manowar, Amon Amarth, Trivium... this list could go on and on.. Metal seems to go hand and hand with working out. It is also one reason why I don't like to workout at the gym. I like playing my music while I workout and at the gym I can't do that unless I wear earphones.

I can listen to just about anything (within reason) as long as it's on my ipod and I'm secluded from anyone wanting to shoot the sh*t randomly...

it's not the music, so much as it's seclusion from what's going on around me most times..

This is pretty much exactly it for me as well though I do tend to keep only heavier stuff on my ipod for lifting. I don't need any power ballads coming on during a tough set haha.

Was at Hard Rock in Seattle and they had a video playing of a group I had never heard of, Airbourne and the song is Running Wild. I liked it a lot so hit a Best Buy but they didn't have that particular CD but I did get another one by this group and I love it. Definitely loading it up on my MP3 player. Will also get the cd with this tune on it as well.....I don't do the I-tunes deal..yet anyways.

I've seen F**king Slayer three times including during a snow storm at the House of Blues about four years ago. Best small club show I've seen yet.

Jazz as background sounds.

I've also seen Chris Botti in concert the the gym isn't the mood for his music for me.

TBH half the time I have Jim Rome on when I working out in the afternoon.

Just about any show at HOB rocks, saw George Thorgood play at the one in Chicago about 12-13 yrs ago. Might be one of the best damn shows wife and I have ever been to.

In Cleveland the Odean which is down the street from HOB is actually a little better small venue. I saw Alter Bridge there on their very first US tour and that may have been better than slayer at HOB.

If you like metal, especially like melodic, make sure you check out In Flames... pref listen to like Delight and Angers as the first song...

my band and song of choice is Children of Bodom - Touch like angel of death. That song has given me more PR in the gym than all other songs combined

I saw Children of Bodom with Slayer, Mastadon and Lamb of God (my fav metal band) about five years ago and they were pretty good.

You being a young dude Cannonball reminds me that I saw a kid wearing a brand new Metallica Ride the Lighting tee yesterday while camping on St. John Island yesterday. I said to him I bought that album on tape when it came out and he looked at me like I was an alien.

Holy **** I had never heard of these guys! Sounds very AC/DC -ish. And hard to beat some Aussie rockers!

FYI, I buy all my musical through Amazon now. A lot of times the MP3 download will be cheaper but not always. In case you have to buy a CD it's always free shipping </end amazon praise>.
