Well the vacation trip I had planned with friends and family is finalized and around the corner. I in particular am looking for this. Practically on the plane.

Have made pretty good plans I think, trying to coordinate everyones wants and shoulds can be difficult but we are leaving well satisfied that there will be fun for all, even the young ones.

flight will be 9.5 hours non-stop to JFK from Honolulu, on the return though almost 11hrs...headwinds I guess.
Looking forward to the typical tourist sites, statue of libety, 9/11 memorial, empire state etc. Can't forget a broadway play, so have booked Spiderman. Also the fireworks display on the 4th.

We arent staying the whole time in NYC but will be driving to Niagara Falls, on the Canada side. Didnt realize but July 1 is Canada Day, sorta of like our 4th of July i hear. Schedule is tight so wont be going to Toronto, wont be having steaks with Flex, but thanks for the invite.:)

This will be my first real east coast vacation, but the thing that will be really special for me is that I will get to meet up with the person that I met on bb.com and have become good friends through our virtual chats and PM's. We try to challenge each other on our workout progress as well as share thoughts on life and family. I'm looking forward to the gym workouts that we plan to have. My son puts its this way...."cool dad", and I think it will be.

Getting the suite case out.
:D

I've been to Niagra Falls on both sides. It is cool. My friends and I went to Canada one time on Spring Break when our Mexico trip fell through. That was the coldest Spring break ever, but fun.

On another note, I was in the Army at Schofield Barracks from 99-02. I loved Hawaii, not so much the Army.

Have fun in my NYC playground :). You will love Spiderman. It is good. Hit Smith and Wollensky steak house if you get a chance.

Have fun, take lots of pics and report back.

I have been to Nigara Falls a couple times, neat place. Never been to NYC though, came within 20 miles of it is the closest I have been. Someday will make it there.

The Canadian side of the Falls is so much better than the American side in terms of sightseeing. Cdn. geography rules! When I took my family back to Toronto a few years ago we stopped at a heliport and I took my older son up for a helicopter ride. I hate flying and to this day I still don't know what possessed me to get into that chopper. Great ride, though, and the view was spectacular. Have a great trip!

Although I haven't been in many years, I've been to the Falls many times. I have to agree that the Canadian side is/was much better. Some of the museums and attractions were pretty cool, although they all exit into a souvenir shop. Make sure you get a Niagara Falls back scratcher. :) I did go once in the dead of winter and that made the Falls quite spectacular.

Enjoy.....
