Growing up in Minnesota hockey was part of life, but with only the pathetic North Stars and now the Wild it wasn't very good at the pro level very often. The Fighting Saints were fun for a few years though. Anyways I lived in SoCal for a number of years during the Gretzky era and they have been my second team so congrats on their first championship!

They earned it, no doubt. Knocking out the Devils.. who woulda thunk? On the previous series, I was rooting for the Rangers, my son had the Devils.

On the old North Stars... as soon as they went to Dallas nothing but success.. for a while. Enigmatic that the team could fail in an area where hockey is big.

Its good to see especially since its their first ever championship in hockey. Don't they have a couple sorry basketball teams out there too?

Totally agree, Great Run for a determined Team, Magnificent goaltending by Jonathan Quick, the guy was flawless at times, Lived in Costa Mesa/Huntington Bch From 87 -94, went to many Games in the Beautiful City of Inglewood, even after Gretz showed up, Nevertheless outstanding achievement for the Los Angeles Kings and their fans

Well done, I say! I have huge respect for the Devils organisation and a victory over that club is outstanding. Cheers to Darryl Sutter - hockey royalty those Sutter boys. I met him when he was with the Flames - a gentleman.

Bob Gainey and Doug Armstrong did some really good work down there. They were a great team.

I've never liked the Devils so this makes me happy. Quick is just an amazing goaltender.

Haha! Real hockey fans know when their team was simply outclassed by a superior one.

Moved here to get away from LA traffic, got tired of driving hours to go down the street, semi srs. Here for better job/pay.

the kings won the Stanley cup because people who live in So-Cal are better than Canadians
