What is that supposed to mean? Boston does not deserve to be in the Finals? Taken just now from NBA.COM

Yeah how ridiculous of a columnist to want the top 2 players in the game to go head to head in the most exciting Finals in a decade.

didn't get mad, but slightly irritated, very unprofessional

EDIT: just read it and wtf?

'A request to the basketball gods to give us Miami vs. Oklahoma City in the NBA Finals, especially after what we've all been through since last summer.'

'Celtics need to step aside Saturday so we can witness a big buildup to an event that just might meet the hype.'

'We need the Heat in the Finals at full strength, because they'll need it against Durant and Russell Westbrook and all that molten firepower.'

'They're exactly the team you'd want in a Game 7 of the East finals, and also the team you want to lose, or should, anyway. And we say this with all due respect to Boston.'

I was a bit mad, but it's just laughable at this point. The Thunder website is even selling "okc, Beat the heat" shirts on their site. I'm not going to call it a "fix" just yet, we'll have to see how I feel after tomorrow night's game.

If it wasn't for Boston none of the other teams would have had such major trades, such as LBJ or CP3 in my opinion.

They deserve to win another ring because they made history in a big way and for the most part are a great, fun, all around good team to watch.

Yeah how ridiculous of a columnist to want the top 2 players in the game to go head to head in the most exciting Finals in a decade.

I don't have a problem with a columnist having this opinion, but I don't think that a site directly attached to the league should be making these kinds of statements. If this were Espn, SI.com, FoxSport, or whoever, I wouldn't have a problem with this. The issue for me is that this is the leagues site, and this isn't quite the place for something like that.

It's unprofessional but it's the truth. I'm sure most neutral fans (who don't really give a **** about the Heat, Celtics or Thunder) would rather see a youthful game of basketball in Miami vs OKC.

I would be okay with it if it was one of those columns where each side presents its argument why they think it'd be better for the league to have their team advance

to publish an article THAT biased from only one team's side is pretty bad...

but Stern will leave it up there... for basketball reasons

This. And if you can read it also says on the bottom of each article that they have,

"(Name) is a veteran NBA writer and columnist. You can e-mail him here and follow him on twitter.

The views on this page do not necessarily reflect the views of the NBA, its clubs or Turner Broadcasting."

WTF @ "real" fans want to see HEAT vs OKC

while im willing to admit that it was the series I hoped for once my bulls were eliminate(but im more or less a celtics hater), but with that said, We have a decade to see okc and miami potentially match up again, this is the celtics last hurrah. Any REAL fans would enjoy seeing team basketball and 3 legends get one more shot at the ring.

they all ride heats cawk, not giving celtics a chance in hell, and then when the celtics prove to be a better team they backtrace saying "oh well i didnt think their health would hold up, thats why"

this, and if Celtics somehow win tonight, like the last 3 games they did, they'll still make it all about the Heat losing than the Celtics winning

they should be ashamed for disrespecting a championship veteran team of the leagues most historic franchise like this

LeonardShelby

All my friends that don't really care about basketball have been saying they'd like the Celtics to win it all because they're old timers still kicking ass and it's their last chance pretty much, so I don't think everyone wants to see Heat Thunder especially when they do have so many more years to play each other, especially with Rose out next season unless the Nets really make those big moves they want to make, it'll easily be the Heat in the finals next year.

lol wut?

the fake fans are the ones that don't want to see as much LBJ as possible. He's the best player of this era and one of the most talented ever.

idgaf about some contrived story line about crafty veterans or the history of the Celtics. the Spurs would've filled that role much better anyway.

don't you see that the whole "celtics last hurrah" b.s. is the excuse the media creates for you to watch mediocre basketball?

I largely disagree with the article. You got the top young guns vs the old legends.. Thunder vs Celtics.. Perkins coming back to face Boston.. 2 of the dirtiest players in the league against each other down low.. Westbrook vs Rondo.
