View Full Version : How much is 1 tablespoon?

Hey guys just wundering how much exactly is one tablespoon? Lets say i need 3 tbsp of rice....do i take the tbsp and get as much rice as i can with it or do i flatten it so it doesnt overlap? Also are these tbsp same as in the US? http://novomilosevo.devbin.org/photo/sl_alu_kasika_b.jpg

A tablespoon is a measure of volume (in most countries, it's 15 mL, but in Australia it is 20 mL due largely to the kangaroo lobby). That said, it's not an effective proxy for measuring weight.

Get yourself a digital scale. They're fairly cheap and extremely useful.

Fair enough :) Are they especially made for food or just a regular bodyweight scale that measures grams........also if its only for food where can i get one?

Walmart or whatever equivalent type store near you, head shop, etc...Much smaller than a bw scale (handheld almost). Most can show grams and some other measurements.
