I'm trying to fine-tune my macros, so I was looking at the nutrition facts for a cup of northern beans.
According to the stats (below), a cup of raw beans is ~ 600cals, but a cup of cooked ones is only ~200cals.
Could the nutrition lost by cooking be really that great? I know beans tend to swell when boiled, but not really at 3:1 ratio.
Any thoughts?

It's due to the beans swelling as they absorb the cooking fluid, that's all.

Yeah my experience with beans is about 1/4 cup uncooked= 1 cup cooked because of the water. So if you want to eat 4 cups of cooked beans..
