So I have been losing weight since January 1 but I feel like breakfast is really a weak point in eating healthier, trying to eat more protein -less carbs -less and only good fats.

What do you all have for breakfast?
How could I modify my breakfast to be healthier and add more protein?

Typical example of my breakfast (this is something I probably eat 5 out of 7 mornings)

1/2 Cup of Rolled oats (Cal: 150 F: 3g P:5g C:27g [4g Fiber] )
1 medium Banana (Cal: 105 F:0g P:1g C: 26g [3g Fiber])
1 Tbsp Natural PB (Cal:105 F:8g P: 4g C: 3g [1g Fiber])
Breakfast totals: Calories 360 F: 11g P: 10g: C:56g (48g not factoring fiber)

I feel like I should have more protein in it, tried mixing a sample of protein powder into it and the combination was extremely unappealing, thoughts?

I don't eat the same thing every day, but a favorite is an egg sammich with cheddar cheese and a couple slices of bacon on a whole wheat bagel with a glass of milk and a piece of fruit. A cup or three of Starbucks French Roast usually comes along for the ride as well.

they even have a fuse of strawberry chocolate milk now. It's the best thing since sliced bread; have sliced bread too.

I have been playing around the edge of just under 1gram of protein for 1 lb of LBM that I have (im actually under it im sure) and I have been making gains just fine, so you have to figure out how your body works..

I am 180 right now, 15% body fat. So me eating 150-140g of protein -- some might think thats too little. As long as I get enough cals from fats and carbs, I still make gains. Dont worry so much about protein as long as you are getting a good chunk of it, you dont need 200g + lol

The reason why I bring this up is its hard to make yourself get huge amounts of protein at once unless you either have alot of shakes every day, or eat large portions of protein with every meal. You could do something like 20g or 30g from eggs /whey/meat with breakfast, then get another 5-10 grams from mixed things like nuts and whole grains etc. Your body prefers to use the carbs for energy.

Try my Le'Dat Dere Breakfast Shake

1 Cup Oats (ground)
10-12oz Skim Milk
2 Scoops Protein (chocolate seems to work the best for flavor, imo)
2 TB Natty Peanut Butter
5g Creatine (opt)

-All in a blender!

Talk about a solid shake to get your day started! :D

Certainly interesting, though I somehow feel it would be equivalent to drinking cement no?

If you let it sit for a while yes it gets horribly thick and more like a thickened glop. If you mix it and drink right after its still completely liquid and not bad at all. I learned the hard way once by pre making it then coming to drink it after my workout and couldn't, i about barfed it was so thick! So from then on, i make it and drink it when its done mixing. Its great, just try it! :)

Protein shake. I only eat one meal a day at dinner. The rest of my meals are 5 protein shakes throughout the day.

Why would you do something idiotic like that?

I approach breakfast like a jungle cat...crouching...from behind, in the blind spot of its vision, stalking, and sneakily...

I approach breakfast with ultra-quiet ninja techniques as surprising breakfast will ensure proper protein absorption.

Any other method to approaching breakfast is at your own peril.

You've been warned.

^ Basically this. Proats keep me feeling full and I'm currently adding Banana Creme flavored Whey Powder to my oatmeal, delicious. I'll also modify my oatmeal from time to time like adding frozen blueberries or using half a frozen banana.
