View Full Version : Life insurance blood test (MIB) re-test question

I got tested for life insurance and my results came back with SLIGHTLY higher cholesterol, like 2 points out of the preferred group.. and my triglycerides were high (which is normal for active healthy people, wtf)... Due to not being in the preferred group my rates would be DOUBLE on a term policy. I also was not told to fast before the test, and have a pretty high protein diet.

I am certain I can meet the requirements for the preferred policy if I try to.

So my question is, now that the data is in the MIB database and shared with all insurance companies, how do I go about getting re-tested and into a preferred group policy? Is this possible? Are certain insurance companies more likely to allow re-testing? Is there a time limit?

I was working with Farmers, I understand some agents can go to bat for you with the underwriter to re-test, mine did not offer so I'll look elsewhere.
