The calories and macros don't add up

i read through the guide and have come up with some figures that im hoping are more accurate
my stats are:
21,6'2", 240lbs BF 24%
protein 360
fat 163
carbs 726
calories 3454 (i intend to drop bf so this will be cut down by 10-20%)

The general idea of that first stickied thread is for you to educate yourself on the ideas. It looks like you've done that, but the math may be holding you up.

In general, the macro to calorie relationship is:

1 gram carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram protein = 4 calories
1 gram fat = 9 calories

so your estimates in that last post would yield (360 g P)*(4) + (726 g C)*4 + (163 g F)*9 = 5811 calories.

Something is off in the calculations you made. Try it out again.

You go from 40 grams of fat to 160? That's excessive btw

i went over it all again and started from scratch and this is what i got

Calories - 2936 (20% dropped)
Protein - 270g
Fat - 120g
Carbs - 194g

using what t12jm said
1 gram carbohydrate = 4 calories
1 gram protein = 4 calories
1 gram fat = 9 calories

(270x4)+(120x9)+(194x4)=2936

Looks acceptable to me. Just know that as you have it now, you will have some flexibility with your protein and carb intake. You could reasonably drop the protein down to about 185g (1g/pound of lean mass), and replace the calories with carbs.

When you make up your mind on the numbers...let us know...

And to not be a douche and still answer your question: Yes, you will lose weight.

To answer a question you didn't ask: Yes, you will probably lose muscle as well.

And to answer a further question: No, this is not a good idea for someone with your stats (taking into account how much you work out).
