Me and my dad will go out in our river for flounder, spot, speckled trout, and puppy drum and during striper (rockfish) season, we will go into the bay and ocean.

favorite fist to catch: puppy drum. mostly because you can eat it after and you can't eat red drum

How big are the ones you are catching? I'm talking like 45-50 inchers are the ones you can't eat.

edit:looking at your second pic, I would call those puppy drum.

Ah okay, never heard them referred to as that. We call small reds "rat reds." The limits over here are 20-28" on Reds so anything over 28" you can keep once a year but must use an oversized red fish tag. Thats crazy, it's rare for us to catch reds over 30" but I can go out and catch 40+ reds in one day. There's tons of them here.

Yeh we eat em!
