Check out this guy's diet

He is saying he has like so many weight gainer's - is that good or bad? Why is he having so much? When he says weight gainer does he basically mean a protein shake?

stop worrying about what other people do hes genetically above alot of people and you have no need to compare yourself to him, what works for him wont neccesarily work for you. He could get the same amount of calories from something else and be just as ripped. Worry about yourself and calculate your own macros and calories using the stickys

yeah why not

weight gainers are just like protein shakes. they are all pretty much the same just different brands/tastes

It's cheaper making your own. Ground oats, whey, sweetener, whole milk and some heavy cream for fat.

But what is the purpose of a mass gainer compared to a normal protein shake?

Mass Gainer basically contains more in 1 serving so it's almost like a direct meal replacement?

Mass/Weight Gainers and Protein Shakes are for people that don't enjoy/struggle/have no time to hit calories and macros with whole food. Simple that.

I already have a POST WORKOUT protein shake -

So if I introduce WEIGHT GAINERS into my diet to hit my macro's that's ok right?

Looking at his body, it must work. We are all different so what works for him may not work for you

Seems that you didn't read the first mandatory sticky of the nutrition forum: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981

Severe violation... Be quickly before mods notice that!

"It works for me" and "Everybody's body is different" are intellectual copouts used by those that make claims that they cannot substantiate.

taking a shake gainer wont put anymore muscle mass on vs real foods, aslong as your protein/fat/ is the same

The physique of people on that site (especially the women :)) are great, but I can't wrap my head around the meal plans and supplements that these bros eat.

From that profile you posted:

Meal 1: Weight Gaining Shake
Meal 2: 10 Egg Whites and a bowl of Oatmeal
Meal 3: Weight Gaining Shake
Meal 4: Pasta and Meat Sauce
Meal 5: Weight Gaining Shake
Meal 6: Chicken/Turkey Sandwich
Meal 7: Weight Gaining Shake
Meal 8: Chicken Breast and Pasta/Vegetables
Meal 9: Fruits, Nuts

Really? 9 meals?
