are you saying they don't?

you're saying Scott Brooks letting Westbrook do whatever he wants and calling terrible plays at the end of games doesn't make a difference?

lebron has gotten to the finals twice w/ coaches who ran pick and rolls 99% of the time... wade won a title w/ riley calling 800 iso plays...

whenever a big play is needed most coaches just iso their best player.

duos like kobe/shaq, kobe/gasol and mj/pippen are going to win titles no matter who the coaches are.

okc will make several finals run over the next 5+ years and it has nothing to do with who their coach is.

hate how nba h8ers always use the "omg lolz like coaching even makes a differencec at the nba level trololololol"

uhh just because the NFL pretty much the most coach dependent team sport in... all of sports, doesn't mean that that the rest of the sports are completely unreliant on good coaching (NHL, NBA, MLB etc.)

Lol, you're kidding right?
You realise neither MJ and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe or Kobe and Gasol won exactly zero titles without Phil Jackson.
But yeah you're right, coaches don't matter......

Nobody has seen how Mike Brown will work with the Lakers, so to make an assumption about his effect on the Lakers in the upcoming season is irrational. By the way, don't forget we're still in a lockout.. Much more to worry about..

lol you outcha f*ckin' mind man.

all those teams were too consistent for too many years for it to be all based on the talent.
that sh*t was war games for phil, and his strength was putting people in the right spot and right frame of mind.

I personally like the Mike Brown hire. I was getting sick of the triangle, it was time for a new beginning.

Brown is a defensive minded coach and will help this team elevate their defense. The difference between this Mike Brown lakers team vs Mike Brown Cavs team is this Lakers team is good on offense (isnt just Lebron iso's), has great team leadership with Kobe and Fisher, and has the best closer in basketball.

Kobe's continued decline is the reason they won't win. Not losing Phil.

Everyone talks like he's done. Dude put up numbers pretty much identical to his career averages and in limited minutes.
He also led all players in clutch stats (82games.com).
Guarantee he comes back better next season, providing there is one.

Jim Carrey had as much of an impact this postseason as Dirk. He outcoached everyone he played pretty badly. I'm sure there's a youtube video illustrating his impact

Yep. Carlisle was as much of a finals MVP as Dirk.

If Kobe is able to remain healthy (big if) Lakers remain one of the top 4 teams in the Association

Especially considering the amount of miles he has on that body.

I thought Phil was doing a horrible job last year. The Lakers were completely undisciplined and played absolutely horrible defense.
