this.

I'm dying at all the Sox fans making troll threads to try and make themselves feel better. Like Luis Ayala is gonna be in the 8th inning of a playoff game and Cory Wade is gonna be closing.

Mariano, too old, trying to conserve him but it won't work. Besides CC they don't have another starting pitcher under 3.50 ERA, they're ****ed.

They'll serve their purpose and win the game, they won't win anything come playoff time though.

All homerism aside. Completely serious...how do you like your chances against the Rays tomorrow? Who are you guys going to trot out to the mound to get the job done?

Optimistically; We'll trot Lackey out there for no more than 2 innings, pitch Buchholz for up to 4, then go to the bullpen, we have one of the best lineups in baseball, and Matt Moore is still a rookie.

Realistically; **** we're screwed, let's go Yanks.

Not only do the Yanks have to face the Cy Young winner twice in Verlander, they have to go up against the Tigers best pitcher of the last two months (Mister Fister: 70.1 ip 14 er 1.79 era in Aug/Sept--look it up), and and and they gon face the AL batting champ whose batting a measly .406 the last two months, Cabby.

Good luck with that.

Not saying the Tigers aren't a good team (they definitely are, very capable of winning) but they play in the AL Central, that division is awful. If you also look at Adjusted WAR both Sabathia and Verlander are equal. It will be a good series

Calm down bro, you're only a Pats fan. If a fan doesn't get hyped up in these situations he isn't a fan.

Yeah, the Tigers are in the AL Central, but they've clearly shown in the last few months that they aren't "just the team from the AL Central."

IF anything I think the series will ultimately be about the Tigers' defense, because it is HORRIBLE. We have holes at 2B and 3B and the corner outfield spots. Verlander will be Verlander, but if the Tigers don't make plays, the Yanks might take it.

If they were going to make that deal they would have made it before he pitched tonight.. They aren't going to give up the players/money that the royals will want for losing the picks he would bring by leaving in FA. For a pitcher who just pitched 8 innings the night prior..
