View Full Version : 6'6 and 265lbs - how much protein do I need?

I know people are going to advise me to cut my bodyweight but I promise you, I am not fat (and it's certainly not muscle). I have an enormous rib cage and ridiculous out of proportion back and shoulders and this is all down to being very big boned. Although the one part of my body which is muscular which I forget about is my quads and calves.

So bearing in mind I am not trying to lose weight, how much protein will I need to build muscle? I am starting the gym next week. I am concerned that because of my height and weight I will not be able to consume sufficient amounts of protein in my diet to build muscle. I work a 9-5 job and don't get home until 5.45pm.

I calculated it to be over 200g of protein a day too which seemed like too much so thanks for the reassurance.
