View Full Version : Cutting Fat Not Muscle While Cutting (anyone have the science?)

I am going through my bulk right now:
6"2 195
trying to hit around 210 then cut to 200

I was wondering what the science was behind cutting and losing FAT not muscle.

If i eat tuna and grilled chicken as a main source of my food while drinking protein shakes every day i can get my 250g~ of protein and be around only about 2000 calories. That would be about a 1500 calorie deficit a day. (not saying this is what I'm going to do but its easily possible)

What exactly prevents my body from losing FAT and not MUSCLE?
I've been trying to put on weight for 2 years and finally am getting close to my goal and I don't want to lose any of my hard hard earned muscle while cutting.

That would leave you with about 47 grams of carbs per day.
