View Full Version : Damn, i've gone full retard and forgot how to calculate protein needs.

Have made gains and need to readjust calories.

2968 = maintainence.
Eating at 3268 = 300 cals above maintainence (this works best for me)

How many grams of protein would i need and how do i work it out so i don't forget next time?

Yea, that's a good post. But generally it's just BodyWeight in lbs x 1.5-2, and that will give you the amount of grams of protein you should intake daily.
e.g 150lb male = 225g of protein (1.5g per 1lb BW).

Generally, people do 1.5, but it all depends on if you're cutting/bulking, your metabolism etc etc, hence the epic post by Emma, Soul linked.

1.0 to 1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass, or about 1 gram per pound of bodyweight.
