Genetics, not eating enough, not enough volume, not enough rest, etc etc etc

It can be a few of those things. Maybe all of them.

I just hope your gym session doesn't look like

Mon - Chest / biceps
Tue - Chest / biceps
wed - chest / biceps

etc :)

You need 16.383 grams per inch of unflexed arm diameter and it must all come from whey otherwise your arms will not grow. And, of course, you must do curls in the squat rack too, but that's a given.

Maybe the problem is with the stuff, perhaps you're not following proper protocol.

I try to eat the part of the animal that I am trying to make grow. So chicken breast for chest, chicken thighs for legs, etc. Only problem is for arms I just eat wings. Dumb birds don't have arms so it just has to do, nomsayin?

I actually eat wings for my lats. As for arms, I happen to be a gorilla poacher so the majority of my arm growth comes from gorilla arms.

God.. flippin' love the title. 5 star thread.

Off topic but nutritionally relevant. Anyone want to help me with today's (personal time) study of nitrogen balance? Articles or journals specific to amounts/time/requirements/training or virtually anything relevant to protein intake or training in relation to nitrogen balance?

Coming up a bit weak on the information I'm searching for.

When you follow a proper diet and total-body training regimen (and abandon your ridiculous arms-only approach), you will likely see an increase in the lean body mass of your arms and the rest of your body as well.

Take the number of inches you want your arms to be, multiply by 10, divide by your age, then add the total number of books on your bookcase.

Kidding.

It's the same as any other bulking/gaining number.

Check out the stickies in this section to get a better understanding of what to eat and checkout the stickies in the Workouts section to grab a routine. They're actually VERY easy to read.

That's not a knock, I'd love to be young again. :D I'm just saying that as long as you're training (with a focus on compound lifts) and eating right (enough calories), your body will more or less grow as a whole, and arm size has a lot to do with body size and genetics, which isn't worth worrying about. You're at the perfect age to do things right and become a beast! Good luck.

From another "Doberman Dan" article:

Anabolism depends on an excess of calories. As you are well aware, bodybuilders eat four to six times per day to increase the absorption of nutrients and to provide a steady influx of carbs, protein and fat. Expanding on the four to six meals per day plan is to include a protein drink in the middle of the night that can encourage additional growth.

The truth? You're seriously underweight. Forget abut your arms, and start building mass in your large muscle groups.

Start training immediately on this beginner bodybuilding program. Do it as-written:
*Routine: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=4195843

Figure your macro requirements from the info in this thread:
*Emma-Leigh's calorie/macro thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981

After a couple years of consistent training, eating and resting, and after you've put on 30-40 or more pounds of muscle (entirely possible for you, considering your low body weight coupled with your raging hormone production), then see where your arms are at in relation to the rest of your body.

You mean GET on the right track...(Also don't freak out when you don't see any direct bicep exercises that you are used in the program. If you follow the program and not deviate your arms will get bigger.)

Save your money and buy a power rack if at all possible.

I am assuming saving up for a power rack isn't a choice. Go to walmart/target and buy one of the chin/pull up bars that you can put in your door frame for like 20 bucks. They aren't permanently up or anything so your parents don't have a reason to forbid them.

Looks like this:

It doesn't. You are teenager, learn to rebel against your parents. It is part of growing up.

Doesn't your school have a gym?

qskinny
08-23-2011, 04:26 PM
wth? Do people really do this?

Hmm...I wonder what's more important: adequate rest/sleep so your muscles can recover and grow, or drinking a shake at 3 am. I'm torn. :(

no need to wonder, Get an infusion pump and set it on a timer. I get my 3am protein fix every night intravenously and am sound asleep.

There are other kinds of pull-up bars out there. Go to amazon and do a search for pull-up bars. There are stand alone units, attached to the ceiling, wall, use a tree branch, etc.

sawoobley
08-24-2011, 01:45 PM
Eat more to gain more mass. You gain some fat with your muscle gains. There is no way around it. Of course as you increase in muscle mass the fat on you becomes less noticeable. In the long run your better off building up your muscle and worrying about your abs later. Who cares if you have abs at 130lbs? So do starving kids in 3rd world countries.

feelsg00dmayne
08-24-2011, 02:27 PM
lol @ this thread still going on.

OP stfu and eat! build yourself a nice base the begin with then think about cutting and gettin' abz later. you're 15 for chrissakes.

You are dissecting your body and worrying about individual parts rather than the whole. Eat more, lift heavy working your whole body = profit.

I have 30 lbs on you, btw. Getsta eatin'.
