I eat most of my carbs/calories at night and have maintained or lost weight doing this............I only eat about 800 of my 2400 calories (bout to bump it up soon I think) before 7 then from 7 to midnight eat the majority of my calories....makes my life so much easier since I am not as hungry during the day. Carbs are good :)

So, the new rule is now you can't eat carbs in the morning?

As useless as BMI is, every police officer had a BMI>30. I question the relevance to bodybuilders who lower their glycogen stores on a daily basis, consume a high protein diet, and aren't fat.

In fact, I don't see any relevance unless you have insulin-related disorders or are obese.

EDIT: And I see that the authors of the study agree.

We have to move our pre-bed cottage cheese and whey to the mornings now :( haha...

So true... But I should probably start a new thread about oats, just to see which type is acceptable.

It IS too much. We need some swank saying around here...something that says that we can eat things that WE like, not just what somebody else says. Any ideas?

How about...If You Eat It, He Will Come. Too sexual. Maybe...If It Fits in Your Microwave? Too specific, and it's grill season. If It Fits Your Mood? Yeah, that's my new saying. I'll eat things that fit my mood. I'll just shorten it up to IIFYM. It'll be both new, and refreshing.

Will that count as one of my meals though? Because Flex magazine says I need a minimum of 8 to keep my metabolism going...

Yeah OK, this is new and exciting.
Eat your carbs when you want. Or better yet - give them to me.

What I truly don't understand is the people who rejoice at these sort of studies: "AHA our bro science was right! Now I can go back to eating all my carbohydrates pre-post, post wherever the hell else", when people should be thinking "Great another blow to the awesome freedom that is the insignificance of meal timing". Am I alone in my thinking?...

This is pretty cool. On my off days from training during my prep I used to ~60% of my CHO intake for my pre-bed meal. I guess I was on to something!

Eh, that study isn't very relevant. Also, 6 months of dieting for a control group that are obese? Come on now, do you think those guys weren't cheating a little......

I'd give the study 3/10, elbows too pointy.

haaaaahahahaha. doughnut chains across this continent are now shutting down. protein stands are taking its place. kinda good for us, eh? ;) atkins is now on the rise again.

now, it's only sausage 1st thing in the morning. hmm...actually, that doesn't sound all that bad to me; sounds quite good, actually. but me still likey sausage @ night, too.
