Hey guys looking to get a bit creative here, any good cookbooks that are considered classics or that you guys have really enjoyed?

Trying to look beyond Meals Eating Now lol.

I don't know of any cook books but if you have an iPhone the app Big Oven is free and has a lot of good stuff in it, I use it pretty often and it's obviously real convenient being an app.

"How to Cook Everything" by Mark Bittman. I have the older version but the 2010 edition is supposed to be even better.

This is a must have for anyone who likes to make home made pizza. It's pretty much considered the bible of pizza on pizza forums. It doesn't just have deep dish either. It has a load of great recipes including an egg based crust for breakfast pizza. It's definitely a keeper.

I dont have a cookbook but I can say get yourself a crockpot.The best way to cook .Put all the ingredients in before work come home to a ready cooked dinner

OP, get a book called "The BBQ Bible".. Teaches you how to grill & smoke and has great recipies

I have several cookbooks, but find I almost only use allrecipes.com or recipes I have tried and liked and printed out and keep in a 3 ring binder.

This is the exact response I was going to submit...

I also like the whole foods recipe app. Lots of great stuff on there that I've tried.

I do this too I have a binder with all my really good recipes and family "secret" recipes.
Its hard to make the same thing twice that tastes the same unless you have instructions

I agree with Mike on Joy of Cooking.
You can actually understand how to cook from that book, not just blindly follow the recipes.

The Joy of Cooking by Irma S. Rombauer and Marion Rombauer Becker (Scribner, 2006)

That is a good book. Good reference book, or if you need to learn how to do something, ie blanching. I also have a Cooking For Dummies that I reference sometimes if I need to reference quickly how long to cook some certain veggie, etc.

Also, The Whole Foods Market Cookbook - pretty much every recipe I have tried was good.

As stated above, "Joy of Cooking". Each section has info about the foods providing a good understanding of where they originate from, what to look for when shopping, substituting, and more. My family owned two restaurants so I have hundreds of books, but I always come back to Joy for the basics. A must have for your library!

The Silver Spoon. This is the mecca of all Italian cookbooks. Instructions like "Some like to hang the rabbit for a few days to tenderize the meat, but it's not necessary." I get all kinds of stuff from this cookbook. The recipes are simple, but amazing and they feed entire families...or one bodybuilder.

You don't need a cookbook. All you need are sauces and salsas.
