View Full Version : Question about BF% loss and calorie intake

first of all, sorry if this has been asked before.

But I've a question about BF% loss and calorie intake. If I eat at a deficit, I'm under the impression that I will lose WEIGHT. Now is this weight going to come from fat, muscle, or both? (I am assuming both?). But the thing is, does WHAT you eat effect the outcome? if I eat at a deficit but I eat all bad fats, am i still going to lose fat? (not saying that i'll do this, but im just giving the most extreme case). Because right now I am eating at about 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat (I know, I know, ratios blow but the numbers in the end correspond pretty well to what I need as stated in the sticky), and my BF% seems to be stuck at about 15.6% (granted, I use a hydro scale that's probably not the best to estimate BF, but I thought the difference will at least tell me if I gain/lose)

Thanks in advance

Bad fat? Ratios?

Will lose some from both compartments. To minimize muscle loss:

Start diet at maybe 10-15% deficeit
Eat adequate protein
Eat adequate fat for hormone production
Train very hard

Read stickies and then formulate diet that is not based on ratios and "good" fats.
