A small, Mennonite college in Indiana will no longer play the national anthem at sporting events and will look for an alternative song that reflects the school's "core values," The Goshen News reports.

Some opponents felt that the song, with its images of war and the military, undermines Goshen College's pacifist message, the Associated Press reports.

The decision by the school's board of directors comes a year after the school president had permitted the playing of the music of The Star-Spangled Banner -- but not the lyrics -- at some sporting events.

fify

they arent communist, jackass. Stalin was a commie and sure as hell wasnt a Pacifist.

There is a school in south central PA which is part of the Brethren in Christ Church, which is somewhere between Christianity/Mennonites. They recruited me out of HS, and they did not fly the US flag as they are strictly pacifists and refused to acknowledge this nation being at war.
