i hope we dont head back to the days of big time schools refusing to recruit out of chicago like they did for years following benji wilsons death.

for those unaware, benji wilson was number 1 player in country who was killed on his lunch break senior year.

Is that the ghetto over there?

This **** happens too often...my friend was an assistant coach for one of the top prep programs and he had to drive one of the players to Baltimore from virginia. He was gonna drop him off a couple blocks away, but the kid asked him to take him in front of his house. He had a hit out on him or something, he said he wasn't gonna make it home alive otherwise.

drose wasnt allowed out his house. much like isiah thomas.

and dwade was south enough suburbs.

tim hardaway making it out was impressive.

but for every success story out of chicago, there is a hundred stories like this. Love this city, but it breaks my heart.

Cliffs on players having hits out on them and stuff like that? Why do people kill them? Jealousy?

I remember hearing a documentary where gangs try to rig high school basketball games (they bet on them) and if the player refuses...night night
