I have probably 15-20 thousand cards. I have the Jordan rookie, like 25 Jeter rookies (he's from my hometown so I stocked up when he went pro), Shaq rookie, and basically a ton of the best cards since 1985 or so (many of the valuable cards were my dads so I inherited them). I also have a quite a few classic baseball cards as well.

Been thinking about selling some of the ones that I collected when I was younger (want to hold on to my dad's) but the prices just aren't that great. Thinking about getting some graded and seeing what I can get for them though.

I did in the 90s as well, but I had no money back then so none of the cards I had were worth too much. Early 2000s though, different story.

Thankfully I sold through enough of my collection before the bubble that I ended up turning about a G in profit. Could have made 5 or so if I had just moved it all but I've still got thousands of cards in the attic at my parents place.

A couple years ago, I went through my 80's and 90's collection of baseball cards only to find that they are only worth a 6 pack of beer. I have almost every RC from any steroid freak. Most of the new cards are limited presses and are worth tons!

Example: Matt Wieters RC was worth hundreds before he even played his first major league game. WTF?

My favorite card of all time btw, still have it. Also my favorite baseball player of all time, which kinda explains why I love the card so much.

Too many cards, not enough collectors. Supply and demand

The cards will be worth....but you have to wait. Most of the big time players in the 90's are just now in the Hall of fame in their respected sport...takes a few years after for their card to become something of value, supply to diminish (i.e. mom throwing away your cards becuase she doesnt' know how to ask or understand the possible value of them), and people to really begin to covet them.
