Who was more valuable to their team, Rodman or Bosh currently?

Specifically Rodman on the championship bulls teams

Rodman was 10x better than Bosh. He was the heart and soul on defense.

....Bosh, well he makes a couple of shots every now and then.

If rodman played today he'd be criticized for not being able to score at all.. having attitude problems... etc. But since he played in the 90's .. everyone in their 20s and 30s thinks he's cool.. and teenagers will pretend they know who he is and praise him too.

From what I remember of rodman.. he was a stud on defense.. but his attitude problems were so bad he could pretty much only play for Chicago late in his career. He was awesome with Detroit though.

Half the scoring threat, five times the defender and rebounder.

completely different players,

remember pippin and jordan were great defenders too. And they didn't need him to score. could they do it with an average PF instead of him? yes, see 3 rings. could bron and wade win with an average replacement for Bosh? probably, but 3 rings in 3 years?

Bosh is more valuable, even if it's because of team need and not his skill

Well you know how much the announcers suck the heats dick for playing great defense? Lets just say if they had Rodman they would be called the greatest defense of all time. Rodman is like Lebron in the sense that he could guard any position but he could also guard the center which is something LeBron can't do fulltime.

Rodman wasn't afraid to dive after the ball.

Bosh is soft.

hmm scoring PF that isn't a strong defender or rebounder

being compared to a garbage offense and great defense/rebounding.

can't compare the two.

greatest rebounder of all time, he was a master at knowing the angles of where the ball would come off the rim

but he'd be suspended too much in this pussy era of nba

can't compare the two.

In terms of value to the team, it's clear who is more important. When given the choice between Rodman or Bosh, Rodman is the easy selection. He is one of the best rebounders and defenders to ever set foot on the court.

The two shouldn't be compared, you're right, but because of how much better Rodman is than Bosh. It's laughable to put the two in the same sentence.

bosh would score on him at will, too tall too fast. rodman wouldnt do anything on offense against bosh, even though bosh has sucky defense rodman had worse offense.

its true, i admit it rodman had good defense but defense could only take u so far. even the best defenders get scored on.

Rodman is better by far for the teams in consideration. The Bulls in the 90s and the Heat now have plenty of scoring, and so having perhaps the greatest rebounded ever is a huge advantage.

Rodman vs. Bosh head to head can't really be compared as they're too different. A team with no scoring would want Bosh, for example.

Didn't rodman avg like 15 Rpg forbid career and didn't he avg 18 one season? Bosh has trouble avg 10

here are his prime rebounding numbers
1991–92 18.7
1992–93 18.3
1993–94 17.3
1994–95 16.8
1995–96† 14.9
1996–97† 16.1
1997–98† 15.0

Im also sure the the Diesel and the Mailman both would rather have Bosh D up on them than the Worm

Except Kevin Love can shoot 40% from deep and routinely gets 30 point games, is very adept at scoring the basketball. Also isn't even in the same plane of existence as Rodman when it comes to defense. Not sure if srs?

Bosh is better overall.

LMFAO at nostalgia nerds in here as usual.

Trust me the Bulls would have taken Bosh over Rodman all day.

They just had the luxury of not needing another scorer when they already had Pippen, Jordan and Kukoc.

Rodman was just a really, really good role player.

Bosh has been the best player this post-season on a team that has two of the top 5 players in the NBA also on it.

Lets see...bosh is a 7 foot jump shooter who doesn't use his size effectively. Rodman could check Bosh, LBJ or Wade and still grab 20 boards, not to mention the havoc he'd cause mentally to Bosh who got intimidated by a Celtics pregame.....lol.

Bosh is a much better player, these guys are crazy. Bosh can shoot very well, can drive, can finish, can draw FT's, can shoot FT's, can post up, is an average rebounder for his position and is a pretty good help defender.

against Rodman who was a very good defender, a very good rebounder, and a terrible offensive player.

Bosh is an elite talent, something Rodman was never considered.

austin.j.taylor

Rodman is the third best rebounder of all time. Bosh is the third best player on his team. Which one sounds better to you?

Bosh is better overall.

Overall? Sure.

However, Rodman wasn't an offensive player and people know that. He was a defender and a rebounder and he was one of the best ever. Period.

No one will ever say that about anything Bosh does on the court.

Z0mgZ0rs
06-01-2011, 06:52 PM
Bosh: Udonis Haslem backs him up.
Rodman: Toni Kukoc backs him up. Luc Longley would grab more boards.

Toni Kukoc + Luc Longley > Udonis Haslem

Therefore Bosh is more valuable to his team.

Besides, MJ would still have 6 rings without Rodman (he won 3 without him).

Plain and simple. On a team with no scoring threat, like the Raptors in the last couple seasons, then Bosh is obvioulsy more valuable to them because lets face it, he is a great offensive player. Lead the team in points, rebounds and FT's. But as a role player which is pretty much what Bosh is now ( 3rd offensive choice on the team, 2 superstars who dominate the ball most of the time), Rodman is clearly the better choice.

His intensity, IQ, hustle, rebounding and defense is light years ahead of Bosh and his defense and rebounding is ahead of pretty much everybody in todays game. So if the Heat had to choose, I'm sure they would rather a prime Rodman considering they have Wade and Lebron ( even though Bosh has saved their ass a few times this playoffs, Rodman would have been able to keep the game close on the other end with his stellar defense). If a team with no scoring threat and no main player were to choose, they would take Bosh.

I''d take Rodman over Bosh any day. And not even think about it. The man was a warrior and monster. Chris Bosh is....... well he is Chris Bosh.

I'd take Bosh, rodman couldn't score for jack **** and only made up for it by hustling hard and grabbing boards, bosh is more of a complete player

IDK man.

Put Rodman on the Heat instead of Bosh.

IMO they're not in the finals with Rodman.
