View Full Version : Does weight training prevent muscle mass loss only in the muscles used for the lifts?

Simple question... let's say I'm on a big caloric deficit and am only doing lots of curls... is this going to prevent muscle loss only in my biceps? If I only weight train legs, am I then going to lose muscle mass from my upper body when cutting?

Muscles that are used routinely will adapt to the perceived level of stress.

Muscles that are not used frequently will atrophy.
