View Full Version : Duncan or Knowitzki? who had better career?

Dirk got drafted 1 year after Timmy, even tough Tim is few years older.

Dirk will never match Tim defensively , but i believe Tim has never reached Dirk's level offensivaly.

Tim has 3 titles tough, Dirk 0.

Tims carreer is pretty much over.

Dirk obviously has at least 3 more solid years.

Yeah man. Unless you've just tuned into NBA basketball for the first time LAST NIGHT, its Timmy all the way. The guy is the best PF in history.

Lol @ the spelling and duncan only have 3 titles.

Seriously should be a rule against reds making threads in this section. Never ever do they make a good one.

Duncan has 4 rings, and this thread is stupid.

Obviously Duncan is the answer here. However, having a "better career" is different than being a "better player". Some could argue Robert Horry had a better "career" due to his many championship rings, but John Stockton was a far superior and more respected Hall of Fame player.

This question doesn't really work.

BIG FUNDAMENTAL. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

He's fallen off in recent years obviously, but he is the most dominant power forward of all time.

Dirk is a lot better this season and the past couple, but Duncan has had the better career.

duncan simply because he's always been a vastly superior defender

this is laughable, bro. go back and look up the numbers duncan averaged 25 and 12 over a good 8 year span

Top 5 PF of all time (2-4 are extremely subjective, and somewhat interchangeable)

1. Duncan
2. Malone
3. Garnett
4. Barkley
5. Nowitzki

McHale, Petit, and Hayes fall in line after this.

Duncan so far

He has a ring.

Do people outside of Spurs fans consider the 99' title a legitimate one? I know haters always call it an asterisk title. Curious to see what people think.

4 rings > career choke artist, 0 rings.

i dont see how its laughable, duncan is a better all around player because of defense...But Dirk is better offensively then duncan was.

and duncan averaged 25 points only one season. so strong 8 year span of 25 and 12

Dirk is a better offensive player, slightly, but Duncan is a better overall player.

Duncan was able to dominate a game, but Nowitzki simply cannot be guarded 1v1. I've never seen a big man be so hard to stop other then Shaq in his prime. And even then, u could have stopped Shaq by fouling him since he sucked so much at shooting free throws.

Tim Duncan. Not even debatable.

Game 1 of the 2003 NBA Championship - 32 pts, 20 rbs, 6sts, 3 stls, 7 blks, 1 TO

Game 6(clinching game) - 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and eight blocks.
