That's a poor comparison though.

They've both played 15 seasons. For Jordan, that includes 2 seasons of 18 games (85-86) and 17 games (94-95), plus the 2 Wizard seasons. Kobe has played 65+ games in 14 seasons, and 50 in 98-99, which was a full season due to the lockout.

Kobe's played 1103 regular season games to Jordan's 1072. Kobe's played 207 playoff games to Jordan's 179.

lul comparing Jordans time at the Wizards when he was out for the game for a good few years and came back as an old man.

Lets go Jordans bulls stats with Kobes lakers stats....its not even a competition, perhaps compare Kobe to Pippin to make it fair

I'm not comparing them as players. At all. Because on this board that would be disastrous.

But you can't say, "Kobe is what 32....lol and already declining", because Kobe's already played FIFTEEN seasons. That's a long damn career.

Jordan was considered the GOAT before he ever won a title. Magic Johnson said so himself that MJ was the best ever before he won in '91.

Don't act like Jordan was some failure until Pippen and Phil came along.

The truth is, Jordan would have gone out guns blazing, not a lackluster 17 point performance that Kobe put on today. Kobe just doesn't have the killer instinct or the ability to get it done anymore.

hobe was bench status his first 2 years. Jordan was always a starter. Jordan started 80+ games 11 out of 15 seasons including 9 seasons of never missing a game.

Hobe started 80+ games 6 out of 15 seasons including 4 seasons of never missing a game.

I think the biggest difference between Jordan and Kobe is their effect on their teammates. Can you imagine Pau's half hearted play flying on Jordan's Bulls? If you put Jordan at the end of his Chicago run on this Laker team they win a ring. Jordan got the best out of everyone. Period.

Jordan in this Laker team even during his Wizard run would have won the championship

Are u guys serious? None of the losses were kobes fault, he played a balanced mamba game and team game the whole playoffs, the rest of the lakers were the ones inconsistent. Then again he shoulda made that 3 in game 1 lol.

Right... If you give Kobe credit when the Lakers win, he should also get some blame when they lose. A 36 point loss in a closeout game. That's pathetic. All-time greats aren't suppose to allow that.

Actually we don't know because Bulls management never gave that Bulls team a chance to actually grow older and lose their title. Jordan has said many times they would have played till they lost.

Jordan was 37 when he won his 6th ring....lulz...how much older can he and that bulls team have gotten?

Kobe is what 32? Is that not his prime?

Jordan was able to lead a team, regardless of who was playing with him and look fantastic doing it, Kobe's able to look great when he as a side-kick playing at a high level like Gasol has for the past 2 years or when Kobe is being the side-kick(ie......the Shaq era).

Jordan's Bulls would have never went out like the Lakers just did. Grow older? Jordan was 35, Pippen was 33, and Rodman was 36 when the Bulls won their last championship. Although I believe they could have won another title. This Lakers team is much younger than the Bulls were.

edit: pippen was actually 32. rodman was 37.

MJ was 35. But yes, the Bulls were already an old team.

if jordan was on this laker team instead of kobe, he would have benched gasol, bynum, and odom and played with walton, brown, fisher, and brian shaw and brought home a title.
