Hi I'm 5'10'' 195 20-25% bf trying to get cut for next year I've been reading about how we need to eat to turn up the metabolism but what should I aim for 2400, 2000, 1500? I don't work and do minimal activity other than weight-lifting and HIIT if that helps.

The title of your thread is an oxymoron and so are you if you're thinking that you can cut and bulk at the same time. Just pick one and do it.

With relevance to all these kinda "bulk and cut" questions. How do these models do it then? I'm just interested. Their liftstyle doesn't allow them to bulk. So where do they get the energy to develop muscle, keep a 6-pac and have the "pretty boy" figure all year round? Drugs?

Post your diet and we'll critique it.

Well I was looking to aim for around 1800-2200 Cals at least 200g of protein 200-300g of carbs and about 50g of unsaturated fats split into 6 meals mostly low glycemic carbs such as legumesand vegetables but I'm concerned with slowing my metabolism down I was considering lowering my Cal intake to 1600-1800 but I'd think I'd have trouble sticking to it.

Dropping your cals down will put you in starvation mode and that will definately slow your metabolism down. You surly dont need to drastically lower you calories, especially not to 1600. At your weight you need to at least get 2000 cals a day.

k this summer other than weight-lifting and HIIT i'm going to be pretty sedentary (chilling, games, tv) do you suggest extra exercise and if so how much or should i just chill?

Dude, if you want to lose weight, laying around the house all day playing video games is not going to cut it. Instead of sitting on your ass during the summer, go out and ride a bike, go rollerblading, go swimming, do SOMETHING! It's summer for crying out loud!

I'm staying in Arizona where the temp gets to 120 so running around outside is out of the question. I can't swim, and I have tendonitis which rules out basketball so if you can think of something fun for me to do indoors in air conditioning i'd be all for it.

If I am 5'4 and weigh 172 what should be my calorie intake to cut? I want to lose about 2 to 3 pounds. I dont know what is wrong with me. I believe I have slow metabolism. What is considered to be fast or slow?
