Ive read that taking protein without working out the muscles only absorb about 30-40 or about 50-60? who knows.

But what i wanna know is do they absorb a large amount after a workout?

I like to take 2 scoops of ON whey which is 24g each with 1 1/2 cup of milk. So about 60g of protein.

Should i lower it or is that ok?

Where the fukc do you get the idea that you poop out unused protein? If our bodies worked like that, the obesity rate would be lower.

Your body will use what it needs.

Yes your muscles will "need" more protein after you workout because you have just damaged them and they need to repair. Worry less about timing and absoroption rates, jut meet your daily macros and you are fine

Some interesting facts..

1) Your digestive system absorbs over 95% of the protein you consume.

2) All the protein you consume is eventually oxidised by the liver, with the exception of the protein in your body when you die.

A high protein intake simply means there is plenty of free amino acid in the blood when it's needed. It makes sense to get a good hit of protein straight after you train, because that's when it's needed. But all this stuff about the body only being able to 'absorb' 30g in one hit is just bollocks.

Well it seems like all the stuff everyones been saying makes sense. Yeah i already knew about macros and i was thinking my muscles off course need more after a workout.

But the way some of you put it and the stuff i didnt know was helpful. Thanks.
