aight well iv'e decided that i wanna hit the gym and start eating healthy..

im getting confused on how many calories i can eat and what to eat so i can lose weight..

i started off last monday 01/01/2010 i weighed 352 lbs and im 6'4" by the way.. and i weighed my self thurday just four days later and i was 344 lbs. so 8 lbs in 4 days.. " and no i dont intend to weigh my self every 3-5 days i was just feeling good that day"

so i have been eating alot of eggs and a lot of grilled chicken and a lot of brocoli and some apple slices with peanutbutter and water all day everyday.. the past week i have took in like 12 -1500 calories a day.

so this is where i get confused some people tell me that way to low and its pointless for that low of a count. well i lost 8 lbs in 4days from it.

so any advice on how many calories and what i should do and all that thanks for any help.

P.S. i run a mile and half everyday on the eliptical as well..

Figure out your maintenance calories (read the stickies) and subtract 250-500 calories from that. 1200-1500 is extremely low, having such a low caloric intake for too long can have a negative impact on your metabolism and slow it down.

After you have figured out your cutting calories, divide them up into a macronutrient breakdown consisting of; 1-1.5g/lbs LBM of protein (minimum), .4-.5g/lbs of fat (minimum) and the remainder of your calories can be filled with carbs, more fat and/or more protein.

It's 2011.

in the past week i have took in like 12 -1500 calories a day.

You must step this diet approach immediately.

Starvation diets are unhealthy and counterproductive as they slow your metabolism.

To learn how much you should eat per day, and the proper macronutrient profile of such, please see: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981
