depends if Luck is coming out or not

if Luck is indeed entering the draft, I would happily give them over 9000 future first round picks just to have Luck on my team for the next decade.

Mark Sanchez and our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks (assuming of course that Luck enters this draft class).

As much as I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, Sanchez just doesn't have what it takes to go all the way IMO, and a stud franchise QB to build around is worth losing out on 3 draft picks.

Sanchez is still better than Clausen so it wouldn't be a terrible deal for Carolina, but they likely wouldn't go for it, and the Jets show no sign of giving up on Sanchez anytime soon.

they dont need a QB, they need an entire new line(O and D)

nope. Jordan Gross(LT) made the pro bowl this season, and Ryan Kalil(center) is an alternate for the pro bowl. They were also missing their best run blocker in Jeff Otah all season. The only position they need to fill is RG on the o-line.

as for the d-line, they have a very good DE in Charles Johnson(many think he should have made the pro bowl), and a solid rotation for the other side between Tyler Brayton, Everette Brown, and Greg Hardy(huge potential). they do desperately need some interior linemen, though.

none of this matters when the offense scores 12 points a game though. gotta have a good QB these days.

Carolina needs more than just a franchise QB though, especially after taking one in the 2nd round less than 12 months ago. Aaaaand New England has your 2nd round pick.

and the Rams needed more than just a franchise QB, but they took Bradford anyways and look where they are? :)

In their defense, they were a better team last year than Carolina was this year

that's not true at all. the Rams scored less points per game, and were 31st in defensive points allowed per game. you also have to take into consideration that the Panthers have had a BRUTAL schedule this season.. Saints twice, Falcons twice, Buccaneers twice, Steelers, Ravens, Giants, and the Bears. ALL of those teams are either in the playoffs, or can still make the playoffs.

plus the Panthers defense is good enough to keep them in games, while the offense isn't. quarterback is the only option at #1 overall.

I'd give 2011 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2012 1st, 2nd, and a blow job

Serious note: 2011 1st, 2nd, and 4th, and 2012 2nd

But in all fairness they also played the NFC west.

I would mind trading the pick for 2 first rounders. A first round DT and RG would make me jizz my pants (no homo)

and people assume that just because of their bad record they have no stars, when the reality is they have very solid players are most of the key positions EXCEPT quarterback.

LT/RT - Gross/Otah, very solid when healthy
WR - Steve Smith - still has game breaking speed, but has no quarterback
RB - Even if they let DWill walk they still have one of the best RB combos in the league
MLB - Beason is the 2nd best MLB in the league
OLB - Thomas Davis(on injured reserve)/James Anderson are very solid.
DE - Charles Johnson is an above average pass rusher, and is great at stopping the run.
DT - no argument here, this is a very big need
CB - Chris Gamble is an above average corner that got injured mid season, and for some reason John Fox doesn't like him so he hasn't seen much playing time

and then, you have QB....
Clausen, Moore, Pike........

yeah. enough said.

Let's make this happen brah. Right now.

You get San Francisco's 2011 and 2012 first round picks, I get Carolina's 2011 first.

that's basically guaranteeing the Panthers have the #1 overall pick in 2012 too. address the guard/DT position in free agency or with this years 3rd round pick(basically a 2nd rounder).

And Fox was our coach. Our receivers will get better. Wouldn't mind another big body though. Coaching, injuries, and no qb is what hurt us this year. QB had no protection and was young. Our problems can be fixed is what I'm getting as.

yeah I know, getting help at RG is going to be a priority this off-season, but frankly I don't know if I can watch another season of quarterbacks throwing into quadruple coverage, never stepping up into the pocket, staring down receivers the second the ball is snapped, etc.....

ready for a franchise quarterback. sorry 49ers, you had your chance at getting a franchise quarterback, time for Carolina to get theirs :D

include a player in the deal(Franklin ;) ) and it's a deal.

seriously though, aside from a Herschel Walker type trade, I just don't see anyone taking this pick from Carolina.

Draft picks are way too valuable to give up a kings ransom to pay an unproven player a sh*t ton of money.
