View Full Version : What is the most exciting play in sports?

This is more in general than a specific play. My first reaction was a pick 6 in football, but then I started thinking and I honestly couldn't decide.

-A breakaway score in hockey/soccer?
-Come from behind win in horse/track/swimming race at the highest level?
-Momentum changing punch in a title fight?
-Last second 3 point shot in basketball?
-Hail mary for a TD?
-Punt/kickoff return for a TD?

Assume all of these are game changers.

Pick 6 is pretty nasty. Because the momentum is going one way and then ..... BOOOM all of a sudden its the other way. and also watchin the Defender elude tacklers is sick.

punt returns are way more exciting then hailmarys or pick sixes, theyre also fairly rare

I agree with pick 6, or the good ol walk off home run.

What about a major under dog pulling out the W? Not a single play, but thats something that unites/hypes up all sports fan if they are aware of the game. Unless, they are fans of the team being upset.

who throws hailmarys unless its the end of the half or game.

think you're confusing hail mary and a normal deep ball

punt returns occur are far, far more frequently than hail mary's. since 2006, there have only been 4 successful hail mary's in the NFL

most exciting I would have to say is pick six, but the overall last minuite drive when the game is on the line is most exciting "thing" in sports imo. I also love diving baseball catches and over the top ways of keeping the basketball in bounds.

^^is this a real stat?

Not really a play but anytime there is a fight in a sport when there isn't suppose to be. Haha, and flagrant fouls in NBA .. real flagrant ones, not the p*ssy crap they blow it on these days

nothing ever beats a buzzer beater for me

other hype filled things include POSTERIZATION, like straight nasty cocked back and banged on some dude ( no homo ), and winning drives for your football team

Basketball buzzer beaters. Especially in NCAA tourney or NBA playoffs. Doesn't get any better IMO

Was about to post this. Nothing more exciting than watching a triple. I like them better than inside the park HRs personally

Or a steal of home plate

Freekick from 30+ out to go ahead on aggregate or penalty kick to win.

Both are sick nasty.

BUT my hands down most exciting play=any long run by Darren McFadden. Unless you see it in person, you wouldn't know what it's like.

-Really late goals, even moreso in stoppage time.
-Pretty much the entirety of a good horse race.

And the top of the top, any of the things in this thread when your country is involved.
