Fire him and hire Bill Cowher and you are gold

Trying to blame that loss on your players and your punter lmao........ a coach should never let a team comeback from a lead like that... brb onside kick and kick return to win it all

how is it Coughlin's fault?

Eagles got 2 TDs off of defensive back mistakes.

And a game winning one off of the punter going full retard

When you are winning 31-10 with that much time left and you blow it......the coach ALWAYS will have to take responsibility for it. Thats why he is there, for shiit like that to never ever happen. Thats the point of a coach

yeah he'll take responsibilty, but ultimately he cant control what his players do on the field.

terrell thomas not seeing a signal to stick with maclin, or kenny phillips going for a pick instead of a tackle, dodge KNOWING to kick it out of bounds but going full retard and lining it to jackson...

things like that are mental mistakes by the players. not the coach.

He won't be fired unless they don't make the playoffs. Then he's gone.

Coaches are supposed to prepare you for the mentality of the game. They call the formations, the set plays, that the players follows, and those plays were the wrong plays being called hence the touchdowns. All this comes back down to the coach. As for the kick return, who knew that was going to happen, you cant blame that on anyone except for Jackson's skills. Letting a team come back 31-10 with 7 minutes left... the coaches fault if you don't see that you are very uneducated and you go to MSU or BCC so yeah I see you're in that criteria.

other than the SB run in 07 he's 0-3 in the playoffs.

if we make the playoffs and go one and done again....idk how long mara and tisch can stay patient

plus we may lose yet another defensive coordinator in perry fewell to a HC job and we'd have to start allll over again on D

why the hell cant we get lucky and have a DC like labeau or jim johnson who stay put as DC's??

seems like these DC's use our talent on Defense to improve their resume and GTFO and move up the ladder

because "Football 101" is a course offered at universities across the country?

Coaches call a play but they have no idea what the other team is going to run. You can't be quick to blame a TD on a bad play call. On the TD to maclin, it looked like a pretty good defensive play call (last I checked, Coughlin wasn't the one calling the plays for the defense). As they showed in the replay, I think it was thomas signaling to rolle or vice versa to stick with maclin. Whoever it was, never saw the signal. Part of playing football is being smart on the field, and adjusting to what the other team is doing. Coaches can call whatever play they want. If you have players on the field that can't execute, and then at times make adjustments to what they see, the plays will not be pulled off.

Kenny Phillips going for the INT was a mental lapse on his part. He has been pretty decent aside from that. Again, you can tell a player 1000 times over to do something specific, but when they're on the field it's down to THEM to pull it off. Being up by 3 possessions, he should have gone for the tackle. He chose the pick. Blame it on who you will, I'll go with the DB and his poor judgment.

And yeah, you can credit the punt return to Jackson's skill. Of course you can. However, as a punter in that situation, you're objective is to AVOID kicking it to Jackson. That's something a coach shouldn't have to tell you, even if it's your first day ever seeing a football. Yet this retard took it upon himself to do just the opposite, and lined it right to the fastest guy in the league. Had he not done that, and angled it or even kicked it out of bounds, Jackson never gets a return like that off, and the Eagles have the ball with something like 10 seconds left.

Why do you NY'ers never bump the threads from before the superbowl win when absolutely no one in New York liked Eli manning? Before February that year, there was at least one thread every week about how chit Eli manning is, and how old/dumb Coughlin is.

Now everyone acts they've been on his side from day 1.
