Phils offered Werth 4/64m, Boras got the Nats to almost double that, lol. How the hell did he pull that off?

"werth press conf on @MLBNetwork now. #phillies suggested $64M/4 yrs and possibility to go 5. he almost doubled that 64 w/ #nats ($126M)" - SI_JonHeyman

Cliff Lee is the highest paid pitcher in baseball and he makes the 4th most in terms of AAV in baseball history. The Yankees and Phills essentially offerred the same deal with the Phils having the added BENEFIT of being a year shorter ad much higher AAV. I don't know the terms of the Rangers option, but saying Lee didn't want the money is retarded.

And it has nothing to do with Boras, it has to do with the Nats. Say Boras had the 4/64 frmo the Phills....do you think he went to the Nats and said "hey, I have 4/64 on the table....what'll you do?" No, he asks for their best offer and goes from there. Clearly the Nats overvalues Werth....
