If you would have to pick a top one or two vegetables (which I have to do right now, low on cash etc...) just for their overall nutritional benefit which ones would they be ?

I'm on a seriously tight budget recently, I get somewhat more than half of my daily protein from a cheap but effective protein supp. and fill in the rest of the calories with whatever half decent sandwiches and meals I can muster. I would like to eat some veggies daily for the health benefits, since I don't believe in < just > taking a multivitamin, so which ones would you suggest for overall benefits : broccoli maybe or something with low cals that can make up a large salad ?

Thanks !

#1 Broccoli
#2 Sweet Taters
#3 Tomato

Now for fruits I would pick pomegranate for those antioxidants, and they are fun to eat as well.

Once you start trying to find the "best" of any food you've missed the point. A wide variety is going to be unbeatable.
