Tom Brady - 236 for 356, 2714 Total Yards, 66.3%, YPA 7.59, 24 TD's 4 INT, 105.8 QB Rating

Mike Vick - 171 for 268, 2710 Total Yards, 63.8% YPA 8.37, 21 TD's, 2 INT, 105.7 QB Rating

Who do you think DESERVES to win it? Who do you think WILL win it? Will update after Jets game is over, as Brady is lighting their bitchass up also.

The crazy thing is vick has played several less games.

Id take Brady over him atm but vick has been making an argument for himself all season.

Also- Rodgers plays the Giants, Pats, and Bears the last three games of the year. PLaying well in all 3 of these games could put him into contention. His numbers are up there with these 2.

Rodgers numbers Rating-- 100.3 261 399 65.4 3243 270.3 8.1 23 9 Rushing #s 53 284 23.7 5.4 4

Cassel went to a bad team and had a bad year. All Im saying is when brady went down, everything went better than expected with a career backup running the show. Your argument holds true for most starting QBs in the league.

In order for Rodgers to be in contention, I believe all these things need to happen...

1. Green Bay has to win their division; closing the season with five straight wins (including one that would have to come at New England) would be huge.

2. He has to put up numbers these next four games on par with what he's done in his last four games. He should be a lock for about 300 passing yards a game and a few touchdowns against the teams Green Bay has left on their schedule.

3. Not just beat New England, but outplay Tom Brady in convincing fashion. This will be a nationally televised game and doing so on such a stage will really help his case.

The award is Brady's to lose right now more than it is for Rodgers' to win without question. I think it would take a borderline act of god these last four games for Brady to not claim the award. He is leading a 10-2 team with a lot of young, no name talent to the most points in the NFL and is also the highest rated passer with a phenomenal TD-to-INT ratio.

Vick will have missed about a quarters worth of the season's game when the season is over (assuming he doesn't get hurt the rest of the season).

4 games doesn't seem like much to some people but would we really be considering an NBA player for MVP if he missed 20 games of an 82 game season or an MLB player if he missed 40 games of a 162 game season? I doubt it. 1/4 of the games is still 1/4 of the games regardless of how long your sports season is.

But his numbers are STILL on par with Brady's, even with the 4 games missed

11-5...

You're coming off really stupid here.

This was 2 years ago and the team has changed big time. Their defense was still pretty good back then(top 10). Matt Cassel is clearly a better qb than most people thought and he's proving it this year with KC.

Cassel also took over a team that was 1 crazy play away from a 19-0 season. 11-5 with no playoffs compared to 18-1 is a pretty big drop off.

Anyone throwing out that season as a way to minimize the importance of Brady to the patriots, especially this year is just ignorant.

justin8684

I understand that, but you can't just assume Vick would've played at a high level in the games he missed. Those aren't just 4 games he missed out on to put up great stats, they are also 4 fewer games he's had than Brady to put up bad stats as well, you have to look at it from both sides.

Brady has been out there getting it done at a high level each and every week... and doing so without the most imposing arsenal of weapons around him to boot.

Good point. He was almost due, no way to know how he plays.

Besides Brady relies on everyone else for his numbers and obviously doesn't get the rushing numbers to bump himself up. Of course that's a reason why Vick is so good but not exactly fair comparing rushing numbers of a guy who has excellent receivers to keep the defense honest as opposed to a drop back qb who now relies on quick strike offense in Brady.

Both are good candidates but lately Brady has been on fire and against excellent teams. I mean he lit up the Steelers and Jets D. Not many qbs can say the same thing this year.

Skins, 49ers, Falcons, Titans. It's arguable that he would have played at least as well as he has in 3 of those 4 games (Skins, 49ers, Titans.) Considering Kolb beat the Falcons, you could also make a case, Vick would have done pretty well in that game as well. Let's say 250 yards and 2td's in each of those games, pretty conservative for Vick. His numbers would now be 3800 yards, 29 td's.

If you were to make the decision today, with the numbers as they are, I think Brady, but it's close, and only because THIS game is fresh, and the Iggs/Skins is not. No one, not even in Philly, expected this team to do so well. Not because of the "weapons" but because of Kolb at QB. 8-8, maybe 9-7 or 7-9. Not a playoff team, and likely last in the NFC East, along with the Skins. What happened? Clay Matthews turns the season around for the Eagles and gives Vick his chance.

Trust me, I'm not trying to discredit what Vick's done this season when he's been on the field at all. I saw what he did against my favorite team (the Packers) when he came in and how much better his presence on the field made them, and that was without a full week's worth of practice reps with the first team. They went from looking very outmatched with Kolb in there to outplaying GB after Vick came in the game. I'm not even sure GB wins that game if Vick is under center for the whole game.

Cassel is beasting it in KC you ****ing idiot.

He went 11-5 his first year touching the field. He then went to KC and did what? Dont know the numbers, but he did **** his first year there. Im sure he didn't get worse after a year of experience under his belt, so that leaves *gasp*

The comment made earlier was that with Brady that pats are SB contender and without a top 10 draft pick team. I showed how even with a career backup they went 11-5.

You really cannot argue those stats, even if cassel is having a good year a couple years down the road from his time in NE. I said Brady is the MVP frontrunner, but to say the pats would be worse off than any other team without their starting QB based on past experience isn't the most logical statement.

Nah, I know. I'm just pointing out how impressive his numbers really are. I think Vick would have a much stronger case if the Eagles hadn't lost that game in Chicago. You're supposed to win the games you're supposed to win, and you gotta win the tough games. That's what I see is the difference between Vick and Brady. Vick is gonna have to win the two games vs. the Cowgirls and the one against the Giants to have a shot at the MVP. Or.. Brady sh!ts the bed.
